Ebay item 3/4/05
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $5,100.00 (Reserve not met), 3 bids, 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
Year: 1964
Make: Jaguar
Model: XK-E Coupe
Exterior Color: White
Interior Color: Black
Engine: 6 cylinder
Transmission: 4 speed manual
Mileage: 60,000 original miles
VIN Number: 889371

Description: You are bidding on a rare 1964 Jaguar XK-E Coupe with 60,000 original miles. This car is in very good original condition. It hasn't been molested with after market parts and would be an easy restoration project to put back on the road. It has been setting in a garage for approximately ten years but was on the road (running and registered) prior to being put in storage. As a result, it will require some attention I.E. New Battery, Fluid checks, Hose checks and /or replacements, and light mechanical work to put back on the road.

It is missing a piece of the top left door panel and the choke knob is missing but is otherwise very complete and original (not restored) in the interior. The shift knob is a factory accessory wood knob (Jaguar checker flag logo) but I also have the original "4 speed" logo shift knob as well.

The exterior is in very good condition for a 20 year old re-paint job with very little or no bubbles in the paint job it is complete with regard to the chrome and trim as well as the correct exhaust system and the correct "glass" headlight covers. The only non-original equipment on this car is a Nylon washer-fluid bottle (vs. glass), a nylon 8 bladed fan and Fiat electric fan motor ( the original 2 bladed fan and motor is included and works but is not efficient in 80F degree weather). I also added an additional washer-fluid bottle to catch overflow coolant from the radiator which is not original but works well to keep this cat from "pissing" coolant in your driveway (it can be easily removed if desired). In the interior, there is an extra toggle switch installed underneath the dashboard to bypass the thermostat to keep the cooling fan on to keep it from overheating in hot weather operation. (Again this could be removed, if needed, to preserve originality, but if you want to drive this car, I would recommend leaving it installed).

I regretfully have to part with this car since my parents garage space (where it is stored) is now needed to store my brothers belongings (since he is getting divorced and a nasty one at that) As a result, this car and a 1969 Marcos 1600 G.T. (yes I am a British car nut) must go.

If you are into British Classics, you could understand the emotional attachment that comes with the ownership of these beautiful, charming cars. I sincerely hope that this cat will find a good "home".

"Bidders, please note that the lister of this auction is not the owner of the vehicle. All questions regarding the vehicle should be directed to the owner.

This car is located in Poughkeepsie, NY. This is about 70 miles North of New York City, in Dutchess County.

Current bid US $20,600, no reserve 52 bids, 6 days left in auction. Beware of this auction, it uses the same photos and word for word description as the above auction 10 years ago. Car now said to be in Monroe Township, New Jersey.

Anonymous you're right, however I can only notify ebay if we can "prove" a scam (and do) but in this case there was no proof but suspicion. Best we can do is post a warning here. Thanks for your additional comments/information and confirmation.

A United States delivery car, it was imported into the United Kingdom from Italy in Autumn 2106. For sale at Veloce Classic and Sports Cars of Shepherds Bush. Seller's description below.
www.veloceclassic.com/inventory/jaguar-etype.html

The car we offer is an original LHD 1963 3.8 car. This matching numbers car still retains its original Moss gearbox and has been subject to a nut and bolt restoration by a Jaguar specialist in Italy in 2015 and arrived in the UK in 2016 with one owner since and only a bit more than 1,000 miles. The car was maintained during that time with invoices proving its recent history and has seen a recent service in February 2020 worth £5,000 in order to make sure it is in perfect condition. It is painted in a lovely colour of silver with grey leather interior. UK registered and ready for its new home this is one of the best E Type coupe cars out there.
