    19183 MILES
    ON EBAY 04/07
    SELLER WRITES:

THE PRETTIEST GIRL AT THE DANCE!

As new…Absolutely one of the finest Series 3's in existence. A perfect driving experience…This motorcar is one of the most sought after, rare early models with few emission controls and small bumpers… Add 19,183 miles (documented)… Then add signal red, 4-speed, & ice cold air.

Presently, the 1972 is the most collectable of the 1971 to 1974 Series III because of the addition of unsightly bumper extensions to meet US crash standards. Choking mandated emissions introduced in 1973 significantly reduced horsepower in the 1973-74 model years. Only a few roadsters were produced because in 1971-72 as Jaguar concentrated on the 2+2 coupe. You just haven’t heard the real wonderful sound the V-12 makes till you listen to a 314 HP model in 3rd gear. And once you drive this V-12, you’ll never settle for a 6… it’s only half the car.

This particular motorcar lived most of its life in a collection in Minnesota. Rush Limbaugh commissioned Palm Beach Motorcars to find the very best e-type they could find. He wanted a roadster that would remain at his Palm Beachhome. They found this unmolested low mileage example with a documented 14,000 miles. This was not enough; Palm Beach Motorcars went through the car thoroughly. Rush got to enjoy the car a few years and put less than 2,500 miles on the car but several years ago lost the car (along with the Palm Beach home) in a divorce with his 3rd wife. She promptly traded it in for a new Range Rover! I liberated it and I drove it directly from Palm Beach Motors to a show where it took best in show… Unbelievable! And yes, it does not pull to the right as one would expect from a Limbaugh.

    · The body is in excellent condition. The signal red paint is excellent in depth, gloss, and color.

    · When looking for a Type E, the three most important things to look for are often said to be “rust, rust, and rust”. This car has spent most of its life in a heated garage. There is no rust or evidence of rust in its past.

    · The chrome and stainless components are in excellent condition. This includes both interior and exterior.

    · The 314 HP V12 engine, coupled with a 4-speed manual transmission makes this motorcar perform like a modern thoroughbred. It starts right up; idles properly; runs smoothly. All four carburetors have recently been rebuilt; so, the car performs superbly. The engine does not overheat in traffic even in Florida with the air blowing cold. All proper engine decals are present. The battery is new, as are its cables.

    · The interior (inclusive of leather seats, sills, and dash) is in excellent condition. I rebuilt and replaced the leather seat as the leather was dry.

    · Of course, all instruments operate properly. The clock works and even keeps great time! This is a requirement for all my cars.

    · The convertible top, boot, and luggage compartment are in good condition.

    · I don’t know if the ashtray was replaced along the way, but it has never been used for its intended purpose!

    Unbelievably beautiful…Very reliable…Drives like a modern motorcar…No rust …Never smoked in, ever…This motorcar offers no excuses… Documented 19,183 miles…

This exceptional Jaguar is a full ground up, fully documented restoration by Classic Jaguar in Austin Texas. It was completed approximately seven years ago. In addition to completing the comprehensive restoration, Classic Jaguar complemented the restoration by adding a number of well chosen upgrades to enhance the driving experience of this Jaguar. These include; five speed transmission, Willwood vented disc brakes, braided steel brake lines. wider wire wheels, alloy radiator, uprated ignition system, heavier front sway bar for flatter cornering, Stainless steel exhaust system, variable assist power steering to improve road feel, Penske shocks. The engine was fully rebuilt and engine performance enhanced now providing a reliable 250 horsepower (SAE). One of the finest V12 Jaguars that I have had the pleasure of offering.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
