Ebay item 1/15/22
www.ebay.com/itm/203792453606
Car has a buy it now price of $22,950 for 9 days seller the-jag-guy2, 100k miles.

Seller's description:
1972 Jaguar XKE 2+2- LS1 LS2 LS3 restomod project.

This has to be the ultimate restomod car- the sexy timeless lines of the Jaguar XKE, appearing completely original outside, down to the chrome steel wheels, but underneath packing the punch of a GM LS3 engine and a 6 speed manual transmission. What a rush...... And that's what the new owner will have once he completes this project and gets the car on the road....

This car has a very good body with minimal rust, nice interior and is 97% complete. Much work has been done- the car has been set up for a GM LS engine and T56 (6 speed manual) transmission. Sold here without engine and transmission - test engine and trans shown in car are there to show fit- will be removed before sale. Much work has been completed and many new parts/kits to go with the car. Ready for the new owner to install his LS engine and trans and complete the car. Has clean clear California title with current registration.

The body on the car is very good and has what appears to be original paint. The front and rear floors are solid, the trunk is solid, great rocker panels- no issues. Bonnet is complete and looks very good as well. There is some rust in the left rear quarter panel (behind left rear wheel)- a brand new reproduction quarter panel is included with the car. Interior is surprisingly good- front and rear leather seats are very nice original with no holes or rips, have all interior panels with good upholstery (interior fiberboard on some panels needs replacement- warped). Dash top good overall- will look great when recovered. Have dash gauge panels (left and center) and dash glovebox panel. No center console (a custom one was planned). Original gauges and body harness were too far gone to use- were removed and discarded. Have replacement gauge set (from an early XJ6). Original steering column was discarded in favor of a later XJ6 unit with turn signal and wiper switches and telescoping end. Original XKE steering wheel is included.

Here is a summary of what has been done and what parts come with the car:

Engine and transmission mounts done (engine mounts with urethane isolators)
Custom ceramic coated headers made ($1800+)
Custom Griffin aluminum radiator (made to Jag dimensions with LS hose fittings- $1000+)
Steering rack rebuilt (approx $725)
Fuel tank cleaned - (approx $500)
Custom pedal box formed and fitted to firewall- needs finishing
Brake Parts- Approx $950 all:

New Wilwood brake tandem master cylinder
New Wilwood compact clutch master cylinder
New Wilwood clutch and brake pedals with hangers
Brake proportioning valve
Stainless steel brake line kit with fittings
Braided stainless steel braided brake hose kit (4 pcs)

Custom LS accessory drive parts- approx $1200 all

Billet aluminum high mount alternator bracket kit
Billet aluminum LS AC compressor mount set
Sanden AC Compressor (new)
(water pump, alternator, PS pump, and std GM brackets not included)

LS fuel pump, filter, and fuel fitting kit, with MSD HP pump- approx $250
Original XKE driveshaft

When the project was started all hardware and small brackets and fittings from the car were removed and bagged and tagged and are in a separate bin. All of that goes with the car.

Additional parts to go with the car at full price: For a full price offer (Buy-It-Now at $22,950), I will also include the following parts:

Set of new GAZ fully adjustable gas rear shocks with springs- brand new in box- new cost approx $950
Set of 3 Wilwood Dynalite 4 piston aluminum front brake calipers and adaptor brackets for the XKE- brand new in box- new cost approx $525

The rear shocks set and front brake calipers will only be included if the sale price is $22,950.

This is a very unusual car- a great project- when was the last time you saw one (besides the XKE-LS convertible done by Chip Foose........) ? Please be sure you understand that this is a project car that will be very worthwhile to do, but requires plenty of work to complete. Much of the hard work as been done and many of the most expensive pieces have been purchased. This will be a very fun and unique

The car is located in Los Gatos California, 50 miles south of San Francisco. It can be rolled onto a transporter or trailer.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
