This 1972 Jaguar E-Type Series III roadster was acquired by the seller in 2010 and was modified and refurbished by Harry Fulford of E-Type UK/USA in the style of a Commemorative Edition. Its V12 was rebuilt by Ed Pink Racing Engines, increased in displacement to 6.1-liters, and fitted with an electronic fuel injection system with polished intake manifolds, JE pistons, re-profiled camshafts, ceramic-coated headers, and a 3″ exhaust system. A five-speed manual transmission was also installed, along with Koni shocks, upgraded brake components, larger sway bars, an upgraded steering rack, and an aluminum radiator. The car was repainted black and fitted with Euro-style bumpers, while the interior was reupholstered in Cinnamon leather and features a Nardi steering wheel and a Bluetooth stereo. This Series III E-Type is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, the owner’s manual, refurbishment records, and a clean California title in the seller’s name, listing it as a 1973 model.
The car was repainted black in 2018 and fitted with Euro-style bumpers following completion of body work. The front grille chrome surround was removed and the US-spec side markers and bumper mounts were deleted at that time.
The 15×7″ wire-spoke wheels are secured with knock-off spinners and are mounted with 235/60 Pirelli Sport tires. The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering, and an upgraded steering rack was installed during the build along with Koni shocks, larger diameter sway bars and torsion bars, polyurethane bushings, and a front lowering kit. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors and uprated components.
The interior was re-trimmed in Cinnamon with leather covering the seats and armrest. A digital AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth was also added.
The wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock along with auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 33k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership.
The V12 was rebuilt and increased in displacement to 6.1-liters by Ed Pink Racing Engines of Van Nuys, California using 96mm JE pistons. The cylinder heads were fitted with larger intake and exhaust valves along with re-profiled camshafts, and electronic fuel injection with polished intake manifolds was added. Ceramic-coated tubular headers feed a Haywood & Scott 3″ exhaust system, and cooling is via an aluminum radiator with silicone hoses and an aluminum expansion tank.
The five-speed manual transmission was built by Uryk Dmyterko and utilizes the four-speed housing with synrchomesh on all forward gears.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists the factory colors and serial numbers along with a build date of October 27, 1972.
