Car to return to auction 1/22

barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1973-JAGUAR-XKE-SERIES-III-ROADSTER-251 ...

Auction description:

Lot #1251 - This British Racing Green 1973 Series III E-Type Roadster resided in a collection for many years, where it was driven, enjoyed, and maintained by its long-term owner. After his passing, his daughter sent the car to the team at Classic Showcase for restoration and then to find the roadster's next home. The car was evaluated, and cosmetic and mechanical restoration was performed. The entire interior was replaced with the proper British materials. The seats were restored including replacing the leather, foam, diaphragm, and hardware. The convertible top bows were restored, and a new tan cloth top, headliner, and matching cloth boot were replaced. Also, a new trunk kit was installed, along with a new and proper set of flush-mounted speakers. The exterior of the roadster was spot painted, compounded, polished, and buffed as needed. The team then re-chromed the front grille and surround and installed a new stainless-steel panel around the license plate and brake light assemblies. Had a complete tune-up, full rebuild of the carburetors, and comprehensive servicing to the entire fuel system. The electrical systems in the car were tidied up as well. The engine was pressure cleaned and degreased as well as the entire undercarriage of the car. The team then changed all fluids and filters, installed a new choke assembly, new hoses and clamps, replaced rubber seals and grommets throughout the car and installed a new battery. VIN UD1S22732
