This 1973 Jaguar XKE is a 2+2 Series III coupe equipped with its numbers-matching 5.3-liter V12 linked to an automatic transmission. The car was purchased by the seller from the estate of its longterm previous owner in New Mexico last year. Maintenance records begin in 1996 and cover a cosmetic refurbishment in 1999 that reportedly included a repaint and interior refreshment. Recent work performed by the seller included rebuilding the carburetors as well as installing new inboard rear brakes, front calipers, and a master cylinder. This XKE is now being offered for sale in New Mexico with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, service records, owner’s manuals, and a clean Texas title. This example was repainted red in 1999.

Chrome 15” wire wheels are equipped with earless spinners and Pirelli P4000 tires. The rear inboard brakes, front calipers, and master cylinder were replaced during the seller’s ownership, while service records document additional brake and suspension work over the years.

The 2+2 cabin is equipped with black upholstery and rubber floor mats. The dash features late-model rocker switches, and the factory AM/FM radio was recently repaired. A new heater valve and control cable were installed, while the factory air-conditioning does not currently blow cold. Over 68k miles are shown on the 5-digit odometer, approximately 400 of which were added by the seller.

Power is supplied by a 5.3L V12 paired with an automatic transmission. Maintenance performed by the seller’s private mechanic in 2018 is said to have included a tune-up and a rebuild of the carburetors, as well as the installation of a new radiator, thermostat, heater control valve and control cable. The engine bay and undercarriage were recently detailed.

Engine stamping #7S10142LB matches the chassis plate as well as the Heritage Trust certificate.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate shows a build date of January 18, 1973 and confirms the factory colors as well as the chassis, engine, and body numbers.

Ebay item 10/4/19

www.ebay.com/itm/1973-Jaguar-E-Type/323936910852

Car has a buy it now price of $49,900 for 29 days, seller tedasaurus, same location, 68k miles.

Seller's description:

A stunning collector grade example that had a frame off restoration in 2000 with pictures and receipts to prove. Jaguar authenticity report to show originality. All numbers match and over $25,000 in receipts, (not including paint work) and almost $9,000 in the last year to be road ready and reliable. Jaguar Heritage authenticity certificate.  Runs, starts, and drives excellent.

This E Type wears its original factory red paint color with its original color black interior. No rust anywhere with pictures to prove, and yes pics available anywhere upon asking. Wonderful driving example, powerful, torquey, precise steering with no shakes or slop, great brakes, good suspension dampening, just a pleasure to drive even if you are used to modern cars. All lights work inside and out as well as wipers, radio, speakers, gauges, etc. The doors shut easily and with a solid thunk, same for the hatch and hood. No abnormal wind noise inside the cabin or at highway speeds. Hot heater and a turn key car out of my collection with a private mechanic. New tires, brake calipers front and yes rear. No odd engine noises, no whines from the driveline.
