This 1973 Jaguar XKE is a Series III 2+2 coupe that was sold to the previous owner in 2018 by the selling dealer, who reacquired it in February 2020. The car has been repainted black and was the last XKE fitted with a Cinnamon leather interior. Power is provided by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Service performed since 2018 includes rebuilt carburetors, replacement of the engine mounts, valve cover gaskets, drive belts, air conditioning compressor, and battery, and installation of a stainless steel exhaust, Pertronix electronic ignition, gear-reduction starter, an aluminum radiator, and a retro-style stereo. This Series III 2+2 is now offered by the selling dealer in Cornelius, North Carolina, with service records, ownership history, factory literature, a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean Texas title.
The car was delivered from the factory in Sable and was repainted in black during previous ownership. The suspension was overhauled in 2018 and included the replacement of the front shock absorbers, radius arm bushings, sway bar bushings, upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends, and torsion bars.
15″ chrome wire wheels feature winged knockoffs and wear 205/70 Michelin Defender tires showing 2017 date codes. A 2018 brake system overhaul included a fluid flush and replacement of the master cylinder, booster, soft lines, and rear pads.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate indicates that this is the last XKE upholstered in Cinnamon leather. Service since 2018 includes repairs of the choke lever, replacement of the air conditioning compressor, and conversion of the A/C system to R134a refrigerant. A modern retro-style stereo head unit has been installed in the factory position.
Instrumentation consists of a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The speedometer angle drive was replaced in 2018, and the five-digit odometer shows 51k miles.
Power is provided by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Service performed between 2018 and 2020 included rebuilds of the carburetors, an oil change, a coolant flush, and lubrication of the grease fittings in addition to the replacement of the engine mounts, valve cover gaskets, drive belts, oil pan seals, intake trumpet rubbers, and battery. An aluminum radiator, a gear-reduction starter, and a Pertronix electronic ignition have also been installed. The results of an April 2018 compression test can be viewed in the gallery.
The engine stamping 7S12511LA matches the engine number listed on the Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate. The certificate shows the engine and chassis numbers and a July 3, 1973 date of manufacture.
A knockoff hammer, factory literature, and service records showing over $26k of work between 2018 and 2020 are included in the sale. The axle and pinion seals were replaced in 2018, and a differential fluid flush was also performed.

We are very excited to offer this beautiful 1973 Jaguar E-type Series 3. This wonderful car was built on July 3rd of 1973 and was dispatched on July 10 of 1973. It is finished in the stunning color combination of black with cinnamon interior. This was the last car made with this Cinnamon trim color. We have ownership history since new and this car was previously a show winner. This Jaguar E-type has only 50,672 original miles. The E-type V-12s are wonderful for taller individuals as they offer more room than earlier cars with their wider doors, larger cabin, more legroom and longer wheel base. They also have greater creature comforts like better AC, power steering and automatic which is perfect with the V-12 engine. These are wonderful cruising cars and very easy to drive. This car is has been thoroughly gone through and ready to enjoyed. Furthermore, she runs and drives excellent with cold blowing AC and holds temperature excellent due to several cooling upgrades. She is a pleasure to drive!
There has been nearly $30,000 invested in improvements to this wonderful car since 2018 and these invoices do go with the car. When we first purchased this Jaguar E-type, it had been sitting since 2013, so she needed some love. The following are some of these improvements since 2018 are as follows:
