This 1974 Jaguar XKE is is a Series III roadster that was sold new at European Motors in Reno, Nevada and was purchased by the seller approximately 33 years ago. The car is powered by a numbers-matching 5.3-liter V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and is finished in silver over a red leather interior. Equipment includes a luggage rack, knock-off wire wheels, factory air conditioning, and PerTronix electronic ignition. This Series III Roadster is now offered with a removable hardtop, a service booklet, manuals, some records, and a clean Michigan title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in silver and features red pin striping around the rear bumper, headlights, and hood. Additional equipment includes US-spec bumper guards, a cross-slatted front grille, a dual-outlet center exit exhaust, a rear parcel rack, and V12 badging.
Chrome 15” wire wheels with earless knock-off spinners are wrapped in Dunlop SP40 whitewall tires measuring 215/70. The black hardtop is included in the sale, along with a matching spare, jack, and knock-off hammer.
The interior features red leather seats with matching door panels and carpets. A Bowman cassette radio has been added, and the car is equipped with a factory air conditioning system.
Factory Smiths instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, as well as voltage, oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel-level gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 24k miles, approximately 10k of which have been added by the seller over the last 33 years.
The 5.3-liter V12 is equipped with four Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and is paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. PerTronix electronic ignition has been installed by the seller, and an oil change was completed in October 2019.
Engine block stamping 7S14978LB matches the chassis plate as well as the number written in the Passport to Service booklet.
Materials accompanying the sale include a Passport to Service booklet, an owner’s manual, factory wiring diagrams, and service records from current ownership.
