Ebay item 9/26/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-SERIES-3-JAGUAR-E-TYPE-V12-1974-4-SPD-ROAD ...
Opening bid $14,999 reserve not met, no bids yet 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
I just rescued this 1974 E-Type Series 3, V12, 4 Speed Roadster with AC from a closing restoration firm. The owner of 20 years had spent a fortune having the bodywork done and it's nearly ready for paint. The tub, doors and boot lid are just about there. The bonnet needs more finishing, though the welding is almost completed. It appears to have been pretty solid prior to the new work.
I was told that the engine has been rebuilt but I am waiting on verification of this.
The suspension has been done as have the brakes. The plumbing still needs to be finished and the lower master installed.
What we have here is a VERY DESIREABLE V12 4 SPEED roadster that has had lots of very expensive work completed already and that needs it's bodywork finished, a new interior and top installed, and the rest of the car reassembled. The bumpers, lights, windows and regulators, fuel tank, etc. all need finishing up. Most of the difficult work has already been done.
Here's the stuff I know:
It has a clear Michigan title.
The car shows 45000 miles on the odometer.
It has factory AC.
It has been off the road since prior to 1989.
Lots of money has been spent on it so far.
The floors are new.
The suspension and brakes are all rebuilt.
There are new hoses etc. on the engine.
The gas tank has been coated.
The tub is almost ready for paint.
The bonnet needs finishing.
The interior and soft top need to be replaced.
The car appears complete, other than some small parts missing.
The original tires are shot.
There are several boxes of parts as well as the bumpers and gas tank.
The exhaust system, two gauges and the hubcaps are missing.
What I have not yet verified:
Supposedly the owner had spent close to $50,000 so far before losing interest.
I am waiting on the bills from the shop to prove this claim.
I'm told the engine was rebuilt and that it might have been run already.
