1974 XKE SR III V12 Roadster (OTS)

The automobile being offered here is the last of the Series III V12 Roadsters; a 1974. Being a 1974, it is not only the last of the V12's but also the end of the XKE production run.

This Beautiful Jaguar XKE Roadster is a Matching Numbers Car and finished in a beautiful Silver Exterior over a like new Black Leather Interior. This Jaguar has always been driven sparingly, thus the car only has 30,000 original miles from new which is documented. Its remarkable condition throughout, as seen in the photos, attests to the quality of its care from new and its low miles. The exterior paint is very nice, and there are no dents, nicks, or scratches on the front nose where one usually sees them. Not only does the finish have a beautiful shine, the body panels fit very well, and there are no signs of subsurface rust anywhere on the car. The condition of the seats, door panels, dash, control instruments, and the entire interior is spectacular. The trunk compartment which is all original including paint and the original foam pads and exposed adhesive residue from the factory, are all evidence of its originality and low miles. It even has the original factory Dunlop spare tire in the trunk which has little signs of use, and the trunk plywood boards and upholstery are in superb condition. The chrome is all original chrome, including the chrome wire wheels, and in good condition for a car of this age. Some of the chrome is slightly faded, and there is a small degree of pitting on a couple of the wire wheels but not bad. The car also sports its Original Radio; another indication of its originality and low miles. The convertible top has been upgraded with a sunfast cloth top, and is beautiful and like new. The tires are in good condition and have many more miles of life on them. The car also has a factory Air Conditioner which is functioning well. Air Conditioning is something one would appreciate in a summer like we've been having this year.

The car recently underwent a tune-up and is running well. This work was done by Midwest Motor Sports of Sauk Rapids Minnesota. If you check out their web site you'll see they know how to spell "XKE Jaguar". The car is ready to take to your regional British Car Show to win a trophy and/or out for an exciting and enjoyable country drive day one.

Included with the car are a Jack, an original Owners Handbook, a Workshop Manaual, a Boot Cover, and Documentation outlining previous work done on the car and again verifying the 30,000 miles shown on the speedometer is correct.

The car is owned by a high end classic car collector who I know from a car club we both belong to. I'm involved because he asked me for my assistance due to my experience with computers. He treats his cars like his family; his beautiful show cars, and shop, are second to none in terms of the way he takes care of things. His multi-bay garage is cleaner and more beautiful than most automotive show rooms, and some surgical suites I've been in. The XKE was something he purchased a while back for his wife but she chose to remain a co-pilot rather than captain her own car when going to car events/shows. As a result the car hasn't been driven much which attributes to its low miles and superb condition.

Today's NADA High Retail Value is $88,500 USD (#2 car). NADA Average Retail Value is $54,350 USD. As seen by the photos, the condition of this car is closer to the NADA "High Retail Value" than the NADA "Average Retail Value, especially due to the extremely low mileage on the car.
