This 1974 Jaguar XKE Roadster is finished in green over tan leather upholstery and is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a replacement five-speed manual transmission. Refurbishment work completed between 2013 and 2018 by JK Restorations of Oswego, Illinois, is said to have included rebuilding the engine, installing the replacement transmission, and repainting the body. The interior is noted to have been refreshed by Ogden Top & Trim Shop, and the black convertible top and boot cover were reupholstered. The car was reportedly acquired by the current owner in 1976, and equipment includes a luggage rack, 15″ chrome wire wheels, Euro-style chrome impact bumpers, air conditioning, and a push-button AM/FM radio. This XKE Series III is now offered on dealer consignment with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate, manufacturer’s literature, a tool kit with a wheel hammer, jack, and lug wrench, and a clean Illinois title in the owner’s name.
The car was refinished in green as part of the aforementioned refurbishment and features a black convertible soft top with a matching top boot. Exterior details include a trunk-mounted luggage rack, dual side mirrors, Euro-style chrome impact bumpers, and dual polished exhaust outlets. The convertible soft top and top boot have been reupholstered in Haartz cloth according to the seller.
Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels are wrapped in 205/70 Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus tires. Series III models feature four-wheel independent suspension and disc brakes at all four corners.
The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in tan leather with matching door panels and carpets along with a black dashboard and center console. Equipment includes a locking glovebox, a push-button AM radio, a wooden shift knob, manual-crank windows, and a cabin defroster. The interior is noted to have been refreshed by Ogden Top & Trim Shop of Berwyn, Illinois, and the air conditioning system has been converted to use R134A refrigerant.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer. Gauges for voltage, oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level are mounted in the center of the dash along with an analog clock. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 54k miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The 5.3-liter V12 is reported to have been rebuilt by Terry’s Jaguar of Benton, Illinois, during the aforementioned refurbishment. It was rated at 241 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new and features four side-draft Zenith-Stromberg carburetors. The radiator and ignition system have been replaced, and fluids were serviced in preparation for the sale according to the selling dealer.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission that was installed by JK Restorations during the aforementioned refurbishment.
