Only 23,000 Actual Miles
Pristine Show Quality!! low mileage 1974 Jaguar XKE Series III V-12 OTS(Open Two Seater) in stunning British Racing Green with Black Leather.
This particular example is just Magnificent!!! We purchased it from a local Doctor who has owned it for about 20 years. He tells me that it is a 3 owner car that he purchased from the second Doctor owner, who purchased it from the estate of the original Doctor owner. It lived in his garage for the last 20 years, only being driven on special occaisions!!! The ONLY reason that we were lucky enough to acquire it is the fact that he is retiring, and moving South....no room anymore. It is equipped with Factory air conditioning, Power Steering and an Automatic Gearbox. The Chrome Wire Wheels with Dunlop Elite's are just Gorgeous, as is the rest of the car. The odometer on this vehicle now reads 23,763 miles.....amazing!!! I am told that these miles are ACTUAL(We have a signed odometer statement from the owner). I am also told that the car is mostly original, with the exception of the carpets and soft top. I am not sure about this claim! I know that it has definitely received a top quality respray at some time in it's life. It appears to have been completely restored at one time, but, not being an expert on these cars, I just don't really know. What I DO know is that it is just Spectacular!, and is about the NICEST one that I have seen in many many years. There are 72 photos below....YOU be the judge. The stereo has been updated to a modern AM FM Stereo cassette player, that sounds wonderful. It runs and drives extremely well.
This is a Wonderful XKE that has had a tremendous amount of love and care put into it over the last 33 years. This is a car that we ALL dream about finding.........These folks were quite fanatical about this car. It was one of their most PRIZED possessions....and it shows everywhere that you look. It took me a while to be able to touch it without feeling guilty. A well worth it). This Jag Roadster is absolutely show quality. Now, it is not without fault (NO car is perfect!), It is 33 years old......BUT..... It is one of the NICEST XKE V-12 Series III Roadsters that you will ever find!!!
This is EXACTLY the way that we purchased this wonderful car. As mentioned above, it looks like it has had a fairly major restoration done on it at one time in the not so distant past. We have no documentation on any work. It just LOOKS like it has been done. I have NOT done any service, or inspection. We have had the oil and filter changed, due to long term storage. We have also purchased a new top tonneau from OSJI, as the original dissappeared over the years
I have driven it about 50 miles or so. As expected it is sheer heaven to drive, and performs beautifully. The only issues to report is that the Air Conditioning does not have a high speed for the blower. It also currently blows warm. We will try and give it a Recharge, but no guarantees as to what will happen(Who needs A/C in a convertible anyway!). Also there is some very light fogging to the right lower side of the windshield, and a few small bubbles between the lamination on the left lower side of the windshield. Both quite minor. It should be ready to be loved and enjoyed by the next lucky owner.
The exterior colour is called "British Racing Green" and is magnificent!! The paint is bright and shiny, and has the deep luster of a very expensive, show quality paint job. I see no signs of previous damage, and of course no rust is present. The chrome is as bright as you would expect, and shines brilliantly, with no pits. This 1974 Jaguar V-12 makes a grand appearance and causes a commotion wherever it goes. This car draws more attention than almost ANY car on the road today(including my Bentley Continental R). The XKE is one of the most notable sports cars ever conceived, and is ever increasing in value. I would consider it an exotic at a VERY affordable price, that will be a great investment.
The interior is beautiful Black leather. It looks like it was replaced(could be original?) along with the Wilton Wool carpets, and makes a Lovely appearance. The headrests are in great condition as well, and do not need "restuffed'. The dash and gauges are in very nice condition, and they all appear to be in proper working order, including the clock. The Digital AM FM Stereo Cassette has been installed sometime ago, and sounds just great. The interior is close to new, and shows extremely well.

This 1974 Jaguar E-Type Series III roadster is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is finished in British Racing Green over black leather, and features include a black soft top, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, wire-spoke wheels, quadruple carburetors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a cassette radio, and air conditioning. This Series III E-Type was acquired by the current owner in 2023 and is now offered in Massachusetts on dealer consignment with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, service records, and Rhode Island registration.
The car came finished from the factory in British Racing Green and features a black soft top, uncovered headlights, a forward-hinged louvered hood, US-spec bumpers, and a power antenna. The seller notes various scratches on the body.
The chrome 15″ wire-spoke wheels are mounted with Dunlop SP Sport tires. The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in black leather as well as color-coordinated door panels. Interior amenities include a cassette radio, a locking glovebox, and air conditioning. There are cracks on the center console around the shifter.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock along with auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 26k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 241 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new. The water pump and battery were replaced in 2019, and work in 2024 involved an oil change, coolant flush, and replacement of the spark plugs and radiator hoses.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The transmission was resealed and the filter replaced in 2019.
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate shows the factory colors and lists a build date of June 5, 1974.
The car does not have a title, as it is registered in a state that does not issue titles for a vehicle of its age. It is being sold on its Rhode Island registration.
