the car will be restored in the
summer of 2006 and will take 9 months to do. we will restore the car to the level at
at which it left the factory and not over restore it.

hey there - I guess 1E10010 is not the oldest. Any pictures before and after would be great to see.

My ID plate has a window cut in it with a different plate underneath it, to display proper trans fluids (suspected new plates were not yet avaiilable for first cars so the factory "made do" by using 2 plates. Also has 3.8 wiper mechanics and the water pump can not be removed without removal of the studs from the engine block. There are a few more which I will have to remember. Good luck.

Does your car# have the 1E prefix, or is it just the five digit #10001 on the Factory Build Plate? I have no 1E prefix on my # 10272 build plate, as is the case with the owners of #10010, # 10045, and # 10108.
It seems that many of the earliest Series I 4.2L's did not have the 1E prefix but just a five digit Car #. Since you car is the earliest listed I would like to know hoe it is numbered.
    Thanks!

it is the same as the others no 1e on the plate. The 1e is for the heritage records only . Enjoy your car!
