Ebay item 5/30/19
www.ebay.com/itm/1965-Jaguar-XKE-Series-1/163711703245
Car has a buy it now price of $220,000 for 9 days, seller celebritycarsvegas, 45k miles.
Seller's description:
Celebrity Cars is pleased to offer this beautifully restored, numbers matching, 1965 Series 1 Jaguar XKE Roadster. All numbers match for the chassis, engine, gearbox, and body along with a Jaguar Heritage Certificate. This beautiful car comes with a rare matching factory hard top. A professional number one ground up concours rotisserie restoration was completed on this roadster by Olde Car Shop of Phoenix, Arizona in 1990. The car was painted a deep British racing green metallic, upholstered in cream leather, and restored to all original specifications with the exception of the lacquer paint, a lightweight flywheel, and stainless steel exhaust. The Olde Car Shop was known for its quality and integrity in producing top award winning automobile restorations due to the thorough detail of the cosmetics as well as the complete mechanicals. There are two photo albums with over 400 photographs of various stages of the restoration process. The company's restorations of sport, collectible and classic automobiles have set many world record prices for cars sold at numerous auctions since 1978. Since that time it has been driven less than 500 miles and garaged by one owner in Las Vegas, NV. Recently the triple SU HD8 carburetors and the entire fuel system were meticulously cleaned and restored, the brakes bled, and all fluids changed. The car is 100% drivable and mechanically sound. This car is a solid Hagerty #2 condition car with nothing wrong mechanically or electrically.
This vehicle was originally registered in Roslyn, Long Island, NY and later in Deal, NJ. It was located in storage in Lakewood, NJ when discovered once again in 1989. The pre-restoration mileage was 45,598, as shown by title and photo documented at the time of restoration. This vehicle has the original Jaguar E-Type owner's manual, service booklets, maintenance chart, Becker radio manual, and original tool kit. Also included are approximately a dozen customer copies of dealer service repair orders from the mid-to-late 1960's. This is an early build of the Series 1 4.2 (October 1964) which is corroborated by original factory amendments that were included with the owner's manual.
