Ebay item 5/16/06 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll Current bid $37,950 reserve not met , 8 bids, 5 days left in auction. 44k miles. Sellers description: I purchased this Jaguar from Symbolic Motors of La Jolla, CA after the previous owner had performed a complete, frame off restoration at 41,000 miles. The engine was entirely rebuilt and just over 3,500 miles have been put on it since. The car is stunning. It drives as beautiful as it looks. It is in excellent condition, drives daily, and is always garaged. It suffers from three minor imperfections. Two involve some minor bubbling of paint, one on the lower door panel, one on the hood. The other flaw involves some isolated rusting on the chrome on the rear bumper that needs to be addressed.

The beautiful Series I 4.2 E-Type presented here is a matching numbers California original car. It was restored not long ago and recently had a full service inside and out by marque specialist Classic Showcase to return it to optimal show and driving condition. During the restoration process, the car was disassembled, repainted, color sanded and buffed to achieve a perfect finish. The brightwork was re-chromed and some of the miscellaneous pieces were replaced. The mechanical components were rebuilt, replaced, or serviced as needed and the suspension and hydraulic system were replaced. The exhaust manifold was refinished in porcelain. This E-Type was fitted with new interior and only been driven limited miles since the restoration was completed.
Finished in the rare and very attractive color combination of Golden sand with a black interior the XKE has everything a collector could want including many receipts and documentation of the restoration included with the car. It is an excellent driver with an outstanding paint finish that will prove to be a highly reliable and enjoyable open air summer car for its next enthusiast owner.

I bought the car at the 2007 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction from Classic Showcase. Hammer price was $75,000. ~$81,000 with B-J fees.
The car was delivered new to Berkeley, California according to the Heritage Trust Certificate. It had been in California it's whole life till I bought it. Prior to Classic Showcase the car was owned by John Heubusch, an author who later became the head of the Reagan Library and Reagan Foundation in Simi Valley, California.
I have made numerous improvements to the car addressing small details. I sent the steering wheel, ash tray, grab bar back to Classic Showcase in 2021 and 2022 for refinishing to show quality status. Other repairs included replacing the alternator and voltage regulator in 2008. In 2020 we dropped the entire rear end and replaced all bushings, 4 brake calipers, seals and bearings. Refinished all the pieces to show quality.
In about 2010 we replaced the windshield with correct Triple xxx glass. Rebuilt the clock by Corvette Clocks by Roger.
Car sits on Avon 185X15 tires which were replaced in 2021.
This year, 2024, we did another oil change (Castrol), flushed all the coolant, bleed the brakes, checked for any oil leaks, lubed the chassis, reset the idle, lubed the three SU carbs, cleaned the spark plugs and gave the car a thorough look over by local marque specialist who also owns two E-Types.
As of February, the car has 49,200 miles on the odometer. I put about 200 miles a year on it in only pristine weather. The car has been a delight to own these last 17 years. After the sale support by Classic Showcase has been superb.
