As its Jaguar Heritage certificate confirms, this 4.2-litre roadster left the factory on 11 February 1965 before being sold new in France on 6 March that year, through the Parisian importer Delecroix. He chose the desirable combination of Opalescent Gunmetal paint for the body and black upholstery, with a matching hood. Its current owner acquired the car in the Eure department in July 1987 and has lovingly cared for it ever since. In 2012, the body was repainted in its original shade; the upholstery was also restored in its original colour. Only the hood and tonneau cover were restored with dark red fabric to brighten up the car's overall appearance. The following year, the wheels were replaced by new items. In June 2019, Auto Passion Services carried out a major mechanical service for nearly 13,000€, including an overhaul of the brakes and running gear (ball joints, shock absorbers and mounts, steering rack gaiter) and the replacement of the clutch and the engine and gearbox mounts. In addition, the ignition system was rebuilt, the carburettors cleaned and a stainless-steel exhaust fitted. A Voxson Stereo 8 radio was added to the interior and we noted that a cut-out switch had been installed next to the battery.
Sold new in France and restored in its original colours, this roadster represents a rare opportunity.
