Peter Lindner (with 2 Ns) used to be the importer of Jaguar cars for Western Germany.
I should know because I was the sales manager catering to the US forces personnel in the Hessen area.
    My company car was a 2+2 E-type.
Peter Lindner was a wellknown racing driver (especially Jaguar Mk2)
I now live in Holland and own P2R13950

    Chassis no. 1E12100

    •Original left-hand drive model
    •European delivery
    •Matching-numbers example
    •Comprehensively restored

According to the accompanying JHDT Certificate, this stunning E-Type was completed on 30th November 1965 and left the factory finished in black with light tan leather interior and a black hood. On 15th December '65, the car was despatched to Peter Lindner, the racing driver and Jaguar importer in Frankfurt, Germany, who together with co-driver Peter Nöcker is among the most famous of all E-Type racers.

The first registered owner was a certain Allen Wayne Popkes of the US Armed Forces, stationed in Germany. Unfortunately the E-Type's early history is not known further, but the car ended up in the USA at some point before being brought back to Europe, this time to Italy, in the early 2000s.

The current owner purchased the E-Type from a restorer and embarked on a two-year restoration (from 2004 to 2006) which was entrusted to specialists in the Monza and Milan area in Northern Italy. This was a most comprehensive restoration involving the body/chassis, engine, interior, electrical wiring, etc. A selection of restoration photographs accompanies the car, and it is evident not only from these pictures but also from the car's condition, that this was a no-expense-spared exercise.

The E-Type was refinished in silver metallic with tan leather and black hood; importantly, it retains the original engine block and cylinder head. The result is nothing less than stunning, and this original left-hand drive E-type, delivered new to Europe and with its matching-numbers engine, is worthy of any serious classic car collection. Accompanying documentation consists of Italian registration papers and the aforementioned JDHT certificate and restoration photographs.
