Opening bid $70,000 reserve not met, no bids yet, 9 days left in auction. 73k miles.

    Sellers description:
This 1966 Jaguar E-Type presented here is truly a magnificent example, finished in Red with a Black interior and Black convertible top. It is equipped with the straight-6 engine and fully synchromesh 4 speed manual gearbox. This car has been locally owned and has been well maintained.

The restoration for this car was completed roughly 3 years ago by local E-Type expert JK Restorations. The restoration was a highly extensive, nut and bolt, full frame off restoration. An thorough photo log of the process is included, and details the painstaking care by which this E-Type was brought back to concours quality.

Upon completion of the restoration, this car scored an impressive 995.7 out of 1000 points at the 2006 Jaguar Clubs of North America Offical Concours d'Elegance. The underside of the vehicle is every bit as good as the topside, and the mechanicals and equipment are in good working order.

Overall, this '66 E-Type is an excellent example ready for both high quality shows as well as daily drives.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
