1967 Jaguar Series 1 E-Type 4.2 Roadster finished in white over black leather interior. This 1967 E-Type 4.2 presents in show winning condition and has never been truly frame off restored. Engine, chassis and body match. Beautifully presented and in stunning condition, it truly needs nothing except for its next caretaker to enjoy this stunning classic for its next chapter. Paint shows extremely well and appears to have been handled with care over the years, we do believe that it has received a respray at some point in its past, but current paint is detailed to a high standard. 1967 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Roadster

    White
    Interior Black
    VIN/Serial 1E13274

This incredibly well-preserved 1967 Jaguar Series 1 E-Type roadster has just 29,863 original miles and presents in truly stunning condition with its original Old English White paint and matching White hardtop, excellent soft top and Black leather interior, the latter restored in 2006. For years it was maintained by Jaguar Connection of Allentown, Pennsylvania, who recently performed a carefully considered restoration while taking care to preserve as much of its originality as possible. After every part and component forward of the firewall was removed except the frame rails and engine, the matching-numbers 4.2L DOHC inline-6 was cleaned, sanded, prepped and correctly painted, and the aluminum parts were polished to a high sheen. It features rebuilt carburetors, distributor, water and fuel pumps, new cooling hoses and clamps, new fuel filters, fan belt, battery and Bosch Platinum spark plugs. The fuel tank was restored with a new pick-up filter, epoxy-coated inside and the fuel lines and fittings flushed. The coolant overflow tank was likewise renewed and a new cooling fan relay and thermostatic fan switch installed. Every step of this thorough mechanical overhaul was recorded in the car's log book, which is accompanied by restoration receipts and other records. More recently Classic Showcase of Oceanside, California, who examined all the car's components and systems, raised it to a higher level of finish, attending to the smallest details. The thorough mechanical overhaul and service was documented and is now part of the car's record, which includes the restoration receipts and a Jaguar Heritage Certificate documenting its authenticity.

*Under 35,000 miles present on the odometer

*Continuously cared for with records back to 2002

Presented here is a well-kept, matching numbers Series I E-Type Roadster with hard top showing under 35,000 original miles on its odometer. Records dating back to 2002 display invoices of continuous routine maintenance being carried out by its then Pennsylvania based owner. Oil changes and other minor jobs including fixing a radiator leak and a non-functioning headlight make up the type of work performed on the vehicle during this period. In 2006, a more comprehensive series of jobs were performed culminating in a light, sympathetic restoration. Great effort was undertaken to retain the bevy of original components still found on the car. Many of these were removed and serviced for proper functioning. Most of the focus however was under the hood. Everything installed in the engine bay was removed and rebuilt when necessary. This included the carburetors, distributor, water and fuel pumps. The motor itself was cleaned to show quality and connected to a fresh and functional cooling system. After entering its current ownership, the Roadster received another round of refreshing. The various mechanical and electric systems were given another check and received attention where needed.

To this day, the engine bay and all of the aluminum components within shine with a jewelry like quality. Furthermore, the Jaguar still wears its original as-delivered colorway of Cream over black interior and convertible top. This traditional scheme fits the car rather nicely and makes the vehicle far more unassuming. Well kept, the roadster has weathered the years nicely and dutiful past owners have helped to keep the surfaces free of serious blemishes. The interior of the vehicle presents with an equal level welcoming usability. The seat leather and armrest both contain a bit of slack in the same comforting manner of a nicely worn-in glove. A suite of Smiths gauges and a period Blaupunkt stereo round of an interior which is most certainly a nice place to be on a warm sunny day.

A must have for any collection, the E-Types many positive qualities have enshrined it as one of the true automotive greats. With its clean, soft lines and 6-cylinder howl, few cars are able to stack up against the Jaguar magic. A well cared for example presented in its original colorway with so few miles on the odometer will surely find itself in good company with its next owner.

Broad Arrow Auctions - Monterey Jet Center Auction 2022

    Auction description:

    1967 Jaguar E-Type SI

    Estimate USD 200 000 - 240 000

    Chassis No. 1E13274

    Engine No. 7E9292-9

According to the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, this beautiful open E-Type seater was shipped from Jaguar's Browns Lane factory destined for Jaguar Cars of New York on 11 August 1966. A left-hand drive model, it was finished in Cream with a black soft-top and black Connolly leather interior.

This E-Type Roadster shows just over 30,000 miles, which are believed to be original to the car. At 29,865 miles, marque experts Jaguar Connection of Allentown, Pennsylvania commenced a partial restoration with the initial evaluation revealing, "an extremely solid, straight body with excellent fit." Jaguar Connection then proceeded to disassemble most of the engine bay and cleaned, polished, and painted all the assemblies to a very high standard. In addition most of the auxiliary components of the engine were rebuilt including the carburetors, distributor, water pump, and fuel pump with new fluids and filters. According to the summary of work, extensive time was spent tuning once reassembled. The Pennsylvania company is also understood to have resprayed the rare, optional hardtop, rebuilding it with new seals.

With only a few hundred miles on the odometer since this sympathetic restoration, and with a recent service, the consignor delights in describing this superb E-Type as remaining in "superb condition, aesthetically and mechanically." Finished in its original colors of Cream over black leather it still looks extremely period-correct with its working Blaupunkt radio, matching body color factory hardtop, and whitewall tires. Series 1 E-Types are noted as being among most collectable and enjoyable to drive - especially with the fully synchronized four-speed transmission. It is now time for someone to enjoy this highly-original and well-equipped roadster top on or off. It includes a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, owner's manual, spare tire, knock-off hammer, jack, and a boot cover.
