Heritage Notes

Vehicle hand delivered to Mr. Borchers, probably at the factory. First UK registration number: MWK5890. ADDITIONAL NOTE: I actually had the chance to meet Mr Borchers at a car show in Dayton, Ohio. The car was actually hand delivered to him at the Ritz Hotel in Paris, France. The car toured all of Europe for a total of 18 months before being shipped to the US. I am in the process of picking up the actually original UK plate which is HWK5890 from Mr Borchers.

My father (Don) is the second owner of this car which he purchased on Feb. 15th, 1968, in Dayton, Ohio off of a car lot called Sportscars Inc. Its our understanding Mr. Borchers returned to the US and gave his son the car which he drove to college for awhile before trading it in for something else. This car was and still is in restoration.

Can you provide with the original paint code & supplier for the Opalescent Maroon? I cannot seem to find the original code anywhere. Thanks.

The paint code is a PPG color with 99.5% match. Email me your email address and I will supply with the PPG paint code we used to match it with. GOOD LUCK!

You have a great car and only two numbers lower than mine (1E 13423) Mine was originally Opalescent Light Maroon with a black interior, but subsequently painted Light Cream. It is currently being restored at Classic Jaguar in Austin Texas (www.classicjaguar.com) and will be Opalescent Dark Green with a Suede Green interior and a biscuit top. Classic Jaguar has a great forum for owners and worth a look. Hope I can post some photos as good as yours. All the best.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
