Sellers description:
The Classic Car Gallery is proud to offer this stunning 1966 Jaguar Series 1 XKE Roadster. These late series one roadsters are the most beautiful and desirable of the E-types. Restored by Redline Restorations in Bridgeport, Ct, over a period of three years, this car is in concours level condition. Redline is a world-renowned shop, known for its many Pebble Beach restorations. This is an original numbers matching car. Finished in stunning black with red interior, this roadster shows as one of the most beautiful cars we have ever seen. The body is laser straight, with perfect panel fit, far better than factory specs. The bonnet fit is exceptional, a testament to the high quality of the restoration for which Redline is known. The rebuilt 4.2 liter motor runs beautifully, and the car has benefited from the addition of Triple Weber Carburetors replacing the often troublesome SU carbs. She breathes through new exhaust manifolds, and the engine compartment has been fully detailed. The rebuilt, fully synchronized transmission shifts as new. No expense was spared during this nut and bolt restoration. The original suspension has been sand blasted and painted where applicable, all bushings, rubber, shocks and bearings replaced. The brakes, hydraulics, electrics (including wiring harness) and exhaust likewise are new. The interior is new, including the red leather seats, red carpets and black leather dash. The convertible top is also new, and the top mechanism has been restored and is in as-new condition. All of the chrome on the car is new, as are the lights, lens and covered headlights. The car runs on restored wire wheels, and new Michelin red line radial tires. The underside of the car has been restored as well, and shows better than new. With approximately 500 miles on the restoration the car is well sorted. Simply turn the key and press the starter button and this car fires immediately and idles beautifully. The sound of these cars cannot be replicated. This car drives like a modern day sports car, but still gives the feel that only a series 1 roadster can deliver. The late series I convertibles are the most collectible of the E-Type Jaguars. This is the finest XKE we have ever seen, needing nothing except an enthusiastic new owner!!! Own this blue chip automobile asset for less than the price of the restoration!!!

Hello Motorists - I'm the operations manager at Redline Restorations. While I appreciate the accolades about our work, we did not restore this car. The car is in our possesion at this time and is both a very nice car & very much for sale. We have recently spent some time in the shop dialing in the little details. The seller wants it gone - he has too many cars & wants others. Call 203-335-9555 if interested. Brokers welcomed. - Thanks
