Ebay item 8/24/17
www.ebay.com/itm/1967-Jaguar-E-Type-/282622160487
Current bid US $50,100 reserve not met 17 bids 6 days left in auction, seller gcgrac22cg, 11k miles.
Sellers description:
I was asked to help sell this vehicle for an older gentleman. It is his favorite car that he enjoyed sparingly for that last 37 years. The car is number matching. We can't confirm if the car reads the correct mileage. The condition of the vehicle is excellent, having only a few small flaws that I noticed. The paint chrome and interior is in excellent condition. The only defects that I noticed is that both floor pans have small dents in them from service stations lifting the vehicle over the years. The ignition key has been moved to the column. The only alteration I noticed is the radio is not correct (original not available) and the owner did add power steering to the vehicle. The car did have a color change respray. If the vehicle does not meet the reserve, I will present the highest bid to the owner for his consideration. The car is sold in 'as is' condition.

This 1967 Jaguar XKE is a Series I roadster that was manufactured on October 19, 1966 and delivered new through distributor Peter Lindner of Frankfurt, Germany. The car was imported to the US at some point prior to 1981 and was acquired in 1996 by its current owner, who at the time owned a Jaguar dealership in Buffalo, New York. Finished in dark green over tan leather, it features triple SU carburetors, power steering, 15” chrome wire wheels, and a black soft top. Power is provided by a numbers-matching 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission, both of which are said to have been rebuilt in the mid-2000s. This XKE is offered on dealer consignment with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, an extra set of wire wheels, and transferrable New York registration.
Originally finished in Opalescent Silver Grey, the body was repainted in its current shade of green under previous ownership. Details include covered headlights, fender mirrors, split chrome bumpers with overriders, and dual exhaust exits. The black soft top stows under a matching boot.
Chrome-finished 15” wire wheels are secured with two-eared knock-offs and wear Universal Sport whitewall tires with 2012 and 2013 date codes. An extra set of painted wire wheels is included in the sale and shown in the gallery below. Four-wheel disc brakes were standard on the XKE, with the rear units located inboard.
The interior wears tan leather upholstery in place of the original red, and color-matched trim covers the door panels, console, floors, and sills. Black rubber mats line the footwells. A cassette player and aftermarket speakers have been added to the upper console.
Smiths instrumentation framed by a wood-rimmed steering wheel includes a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with an inset clock. The five-digit odometer shows 12k miles, approximately 3,500 of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. Additional gauges in the center dash monitor coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. The ignition tumbler has been relocated to the steering column.
The 4.2-liter XK inline-six and four-speed manual transmission are said to have been overhauled circa 2007 by the current owner’s Jaguar dealership in Buffalo, with photos taken after the work shown in the gallery below. Maintenance in 2019 included fluid changes, a brake service, and an inspection.
Engine number 7E10697-9 is stamped on the block, matching the number listed on the JHT certificate. The same number is shown on the cylinder head.
The four-wheel independent suspension system features torsion bars up front and twin coil springs on each side at the rear. A hydraulic power steering system has been added.
The JHT certificate lists the original colors and component numbers as well as initial delivery to a W.F. Mastroler in Germany.
