Ebay item 7/11/14
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-Roadster-Jaguar-XKE-1967-Roadster-Matching-Number ...
Current bid $6,300, 3 bids 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
For sale we have a previously restored 1967 Jaguar XKE roadster which was burned up in a garage fire. Before the fire this was an original black license plate ( VAL 901 ) California car. After we removed the charcoal and roofing tiles from the interior, we could see the floors have no rust holes the lower seat cushions were once new leather. This is definitely a sad story. All the external sheetmetal is damaged. The engine, transmission, and front cross member numbers all match the data plate. If a person could afford a new Martin Robey XKE body, a genuine numbers matching 1967 XKE could be built. The other options would be to completely re-skin this body or use the matching components as parts for another project. The engine turns over and shows clean oil on the dipstick. One of the triple carbs will have to be replaced as parts of it melted. The others should be rebuildable.
