We are proud to offer this rather special Series One 4.2 litre Roadster; one of the last Series One, left hand drive Roadsters to leave the Browns Lane factory on the 7th December 1966, and in its original and rare all black specification complete with matching numbers. Imported from California in 2010, this Jaguar has recently been subject to a full nut and bolt restoration to the highest quality and detail with the painstaking work taking two years to complete. Numerous bolt on upgrades were carried out to improve the package; however, all the original standard parts are boxed up and come with the car.
The specification:
Engine: injection camshafts - ported and polished head -compression ratio raised to 10 to 1 - Aldon electronic igniter ignition - silicone leads and Lucas gold ignition coil - triple re-needled SU carburettors - 6 branch performance stainless steel manifold and exhaust system.
Gearbox: Fully rebuilt with steel synchromesh rings - retains a new 10" clutch for torque.
Chassis front: AP four pot callipers and fast road Ferrodo pads - 11 ¼" discs - billet aluminium steering arms - Polybushed steering rack mounts - suspension polybushed - lowered top wishbones geometry to LWE specification - braided Aeroquip hoses to brakes and clutch - Gas adjustable shock absorbers - uprated torsion bars - sealed for life ball joints - Polybushed anti roll bar.
Rear: Gas adjustable shock absorbers - Eisbach uprated road springs - heavy duty radius arm bush kit - Polybushed anti roll bar - Girling Series III callipers and Mintex 1144 brake pads.
Wheels: Cross laced 6" x 15" competition chrome and stainless steel wire wheels with 205.70.15 VR tubeless Vredenstein tyres.
With a recorded mileage at under, 50,000 miles, this Jaguar must be one of the finest available in the world today. Such is the confidence in the car that the vendor is offering the purchaser a 12 month unconditional warranty within the UK. The best awaits the lucky new owner; need we say more?
