For sale on
www.classic-racing-annonces.fr/annonce/jaguar-type-e-roadster-serie-1/
Seller's description :
On sale 1967 Jaguar E-Type Roadster Series 1.Here is an original left-hand drive 4.2-Liter Series 1 Roadster with chassis n° 1E 14657. This Matching Numbers example has been restored to the highest standards, sensibly upgraded and is registered to the Netherlands.
Manufactured on 26 January 1967, chassis number ‘1E 14657”’ represents the Jaguar E-Type in – arguably – its ideal specification: a ‘Series 1’ roadster with the covered headlamps, benefiting from the more refined and powerful 4.2-litre engine and the improved all-synchromesh gearbox. In addition, this car’s left-hand drive makes it ideal for European touring. As a Series 1 model, ‘14657’ incorporates many features not found in later cars, including covered headlamps, toggle switches, and over-bumper rear lights, all hallmarks of the E-Type in its earliest and purest form. The original chassis plates confirming matching numbers are still in place.
Its accompanying Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate confirms that this is indeed a matching-numbers example that was ordered via Jaguar Cars New York and left the factory on 23 February 1967
Benefiting from a complete ‘last nut and bolt’ restoration, the car has now covered some shakedown miles and effectively performs to better-than-factory standard. All original components have been rebuilt to the highest standards.
Handsomely finished in Gunmetal metallic with black leather trim and matching mohair hood, the car has a Dutch Title and can therefore easily be reregistered in any EU state without any taxes to be paid. Worthy of the closest inspection, this stunning E-Type roadster is finished to the highest standard and ready to provide its fortunate next owner with years of reliable and relaxed high-performance motoring.
