This 1967 Jaguar XKE is a Series I roadster that was completed on March 31, 1967, and first registered in Coventry, England, before being exported to Madrid, Spain. It was imported to the US under previous ownership and purchased by the seller out of Virginia in 2000. A refurbishment was commissioned in 2020, which involved a rebuild of the 4.2-liter inline-six as well as installation of a replacement tan soft top, tan leather upholstery, 15″ chrome wire wheels, and a stainless steel exhaust system. The car is finished in red and features a four-speed manual gearbox, four-wheel disc brakes, glass headlight covers, a JVC CD stereo, and a Moto-Lita steering wheel. The seller notes that additional refurbishment work may be required. This XKE is now offered with a Jaguar Production Record Trace Certificate, a removed chassis tag, spare parts, refurbishment records, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
Delivered from the factory in Pale Primrose Yellow, the car underwent a color change to red under previous ownership. Features include split front and rear chrome bumpers, glass headlight covers, hood louvers, and twin exhaust outlets. A replacement tan Stayfast soft top was installed in 2021.
Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels and two-eared knock-off hubs were installed under the seller’s ownership along with 185-width Coker Classic redline radial tires. Replacement tie rods, ball joints, bushings, and wheel bearings were installed during the refurbishment, and the four-wheel disc brakes were also overhauled with a replacement master cylinder, servo assembly, calipers, hoses, rotors, and pads.
The cabin was reupholstered in tan leather using a kit sourced from Terry’s Jaguar Parts of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Dynamat insulation lines the floors beneath the tan carpets, and equipment includes bucket seats, a center console with an armrest, a sliding rear-view mirror, lap belts, and a JVC CD player.
The wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock. Gauges for amperage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows less than 89k miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter twin-cam inline-six is equipped with triple SU side-draft carburetors and was factory-rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque. The engine was overhauled by Twin Cam Sportscars of Sarasota, Florida, in May 2020, with work including an overhaul of the cylinder head as well as the installation of replacement main and rod bearings, timing chains, intake and exhaust valves, and a stainless steel exhaust manifold cover.
Cylinder head stamping 7E12663–9 matches the engine block stamping in the gallery. A replacement chassis tag is fitted on the car.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual gearbox. A stainless steel exhaust system was installed during the refurbishment.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists a build date of March 31, 1967, along with factory colors and serial numbers.
