Car offered at:
www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/jaguar/xke/2323521.html
Location: Englewood, Colorado, 80110
Transmission: Manual
Condition: Excellent
Exterior: Carmen Red
Interior: Natural Leather
Cosmetically, the car (originally white with black interior) was stripped and refinished in bright Carmen Red and a complete new leather interior, Wilton carpets & soft top were installed. The car had no evidence of past accident damage or rust issues (which is why it was chosen for such an extensive rebuild). There are even more features we can discuss when you call about this terrific car, but let's' sum up by saying it looks great and runs even better than stock E-Types, and these deviations from originality not only make the car more functional, they result in a lower price than a concours-perfect example!
When the engine was rebuilt, it received a lightweight aluminum flywheel, upgraded clutch and forged crank pulley for quicker throttle response. An uprated electronic ignition for greater reliability, full stainless steel exhaust with a fabricated chrome header system for added power boosted by low-restriction air filters. It has an oversize Ron Davis aluminum radiator with built-in auxiliary fan for worry-free cooling even in hot, slow traffic. All engine and differential mounts were replaced with heavy-duty ones plus the front and rear suspensions were rebuilt for proper ride height and handling. The brake system was completely rebuilt along with new Koni shocks. Holding costs down was not a priority!
Price: $128,500

This 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Finished in red over tan leather, the car is equipped with a tan soft top, a soft top boot, enclosed headlights, 15″ wire-spoke steel wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, triple windshield wipers, an Alpine CD stereo, and a heater. The current owner purchased the car in 2020, and work in May 2024 is said to have included services of the carburetors and ignition system as well as exhaust repairs and replacement of the steering rack mount and tires. This XKE Series I roadster is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate and a California title.
The Series I E-Types were equipped with covered headlights and taillights mounted above the chrome rear bumpers. This example left the factory finished in Opalescent Maroon with a black soft top and was repainted in Signal Red under previous ownership. Exterior details include a replacement tan soft top, a soft top boot, enclosed headlights, a louvered clamshell hood, wraparound chrome bumpers, triple windshield wipers, and dual exhaust outlets.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and wear 185/70 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires that were mounted in May 2024. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The steering rack mount was replaced in 2024.
Initially delivered from the factory with a black interior, the cabin houses bucket seats that have reupholstered in tan leather along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Interior appointments include black vinyl dash trim, a sliding rearview mirror, an Alpine CD stereo, and a heater.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 78k miles.
The 4.2-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque. Service at Sierra Classic Sportscar of Meadow Vista, California, in May 2024 included services of the carburetors and ignition system along with exhaust repairs. An oil leak from the rear main seal is noted.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates.
The California title lists the engine ID as the VIN as shown on the manufacturer ID tag.
The California title is listed as a duplicate.
