Offered here from the Bill and Linda Feldhorn Collection is their desirable Series 1½ example, benefitting from decades of no-expense-spared restoration work by Jaguar specialists. According to the Jaguar-issued Heritage Certificate on file, this E-Type was completed at the Coventry Jaguar factory in June of 1967 as a fully evolved Series 1 Roadster example equipped as a left-hand drive, finished in Pale Primrose Yellow over a Black Connolly leather interior for the U.S.-Market. The first owner was U.S. Marine Corps Captain Alan C. Mullaney, who would take delivery of the new Jaguar at his San Clemente, California military base, offering the perfect mild weather and scenic Southern California coastal roads for his new desirable open-top sportscar.

The E-Type was acquired by the previous owner, Mr. William Arthur of Oxnard, California in 1976, with whom the Jaguar would remain until acquired by the Feldhorns in 2008. During Arthur's 32-year-long devoted ownership, he would treat the Jaguar to a nut-and-bolt restoration, commencing in the late 1990s and completed during the mid-2000s. Restoration and parts receipts can be found in the inch-thick history file accompanying the Jaguar, totaling more than $40,000 in parts and specialty work, not including Mr. Arthur's own work. Parts were sourced from the Jaguar specialists at XKs Unlimited, whom would also be entrusted with rebuilding the original engine and cylinder head, with tasteful performance upgrades carried out such as carefully porting the cylinder head for better flow. The suspension, braking, and electrical systems were also attended too, as were cosmetic parts of the car such as chrome, brightwork and interior.

During the Feldhorn's 15-year tenure with the E-Type, the car Jaguar has received further restoration and maintenance to the tune of approximately $50,000, and receipts of this professional work can be found in the history file. Steve's Jaguar Service in Canoga Park, California has been entrusted with much of the mechanical work performed, while Hot Rods and Hobbies of Signal Hill carried out a full repaint of the solid original bodywork 2018. Equipped with tasteful performance tweaks such as five-speed full-synchro transmission and upgraded suspension and brakes, this is indeed a healthy performing E-Type, as has been demonstrated on the many tours and 1,000-mile rallies where the Feldhorns have stretched its legs over the years. Offered with the aforementioned impressive restoration file, owner's manual, tool roll, and Heritage Certificate documenting the car retains its original engine block and head, this striking, well-performing E-Type benefits from decades of devoted, no-expense-spared ownership, in addition to the mild California climate where it was delivered to new.
