This 1968 Jaguar XKE roadster was built on December 19, 1967, and distributed through Jaguar Cars, New York. The seller acquired it in 2010, and a subsequent refurbishment reportedly included a repaint in metallic silver, a replacement black convertible top, an interior refresh with black leather upholstery, and a rebuild of the 4.2-liter inline-six. The engine is paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and additional equipment includes four-wheel disc brakes, headlight covers, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, four-wheel independent suspension, dual Stromberg carburetors, a Bell stainless exhaust system, and a RetroSound stereo with a digital display. This Series 1.5 XKE roadster is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate and a clean Michigan title in the seller’s name.
Originally Primrose Yellow, the body was refinished in metallic silver during current ownership, and cracks in the body were repaired at that time. Features include a black Haartz convertible soft top, split front and rear bumpers, headlight covers, and chrome moldings. The seller states that refurbishment work during current ownership included a replacement windshield as well as re-plating the chrome bumpers and moldings.
15″ knock-off wire wheels are wrapped in Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors were standard equipment, and the car rides on four-wheel independent suspension with torsion bars up front and coil springs at the rear. The seller states that the braking and suspension systems were overhauled during current ownership.
The interior features low-back bucket seats upholstered in black leather, matching door panels, black carpets, and a black dash pad. The seller states that the chassis wiring harness was replaced during the refurbishment, and a RetroSound stereo is installed.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer. Ancillary gauges for battery voltage, oil pressure, fuel level, and water temperature are mounted in the center of the dash along with an analog clock. The five-digit odometer shows 52k miles, approximately 1k of which were added by the seller since 2010. True mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six is equipped with dual Stromberg carburetors and was factory rated at 246 horsepower. The seller states that the engine was rebuilt during current ownership and that the fuel system was overhauled at that time.
The engine block stamping “7E15398-9” matches the engine number on the underhood data tag as well as the engine number noted on the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, and a Bell stainless exhaust system is fitted.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists factory colors and identification numbers and shows a manufacture date of December 19, 1967.

This 1968 Jaguar XKE roadster was built in December 1967 and distributed through Jaguar Cars in New York. Refurbishment work under prior ownership in 2017 reportedly included a repaint in silver, replacement of the convertible top, interior refreshment with black leather upholstery, and a rebuild of its 4.2-liter inline-six. The car was listed on BaT in January 2021 and sold to the seller on BaT in January 2022. Work under current ownership has included replacing the knock-off wheel nuts, the oil pressure sender, and the voltage gauge as well as installing triple Weber carburetors, a high-torque starter, and Heuer rally timers. Additional equipment includes a four-speed manual transmission, four-wheel disc brakes, independent suspension, chrome 15″ wire wheels, headlight covers, a Bell stainless steel exhaust system, and a RetroSound stereo. This Series 1.5 XKE roadster is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, refurbishment records, removed parts, and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC.
The body was originally Pale Primrose Yellow and was refinished in silver under previous ownership, reportedly following repair work to areas of cracked paint. The seller states that additional refurbishment work included replacement of the windshield as well as replating the split chrome bumpers and moldings. Features include retrofitted headlight covers and a black Haartz convertible soft top.
Chrome 15″ wire wheels are mounted with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires, and the seller states the knock-off wheel nuts were replaced under current ownership. Four-wheel disc brakes with inboard rear rotors were standard equipment, and the car features fully independent suspension with torsion bars up front and coil springs at the rear.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black leather along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Interior appointments include black vinyl dash trim, a sliding rearview mirror, a RetroSound digital stereo, and a heater. A pair of Heuer rally timers was installed atop the center console under current ownership.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The seller notes the oil pressure sender was replaced and a Bosch voltage gauge was installed under current ownership. The five-digit odometer shows 62k miles, a handful of which were added under current ownership.
The 4.2-liter inline-six and alternator were reportedly rebuilt under prior ownership, and an aluminum radiator is installed. The seller states the camshaft covers were replaced, triple Weber carburetors were installed in place of the Stromberg units, and a high-torque starter was installed under current ownership. Pictures of the engine block stamp can be viewed in the gallery below
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission that is said to have been overhauled under prior ownership along with the differential. A Bell stainless-steel exhaust system has been fitted.
