Advertised for sale on carsales.com.au 9 December 2024, asking AUD$215,000. Car is in Tuggerah, Australia. Seller’s description (edited) follows:

1E16591 was manufactured 20th December 1967 as a dark blue car with light blue interior and black convertible top. Dispatched 8th January 1968 to Jaguar Cars, New York, its history in the States is unknown. The car made it’s way to Australia, restored and finished in Old English White with red interior and subsequently converted to right hand drive.  Current owner since March 2016.  Concours Sportscar Restoration has cared for the car during this time and has carried out numerous improvements including engine out firewall forward restoration, fitting electric power steering, new stainless steel exhaust and re-trimming of the seats.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
