Car mentioned in The E-type" magazine. Car appears to be pale primrose now and based in Queensland, Australia:
“Car 1E1675 manufacture March 1967. Mileage 88,000 miles. Swapped for Mazda RX3 and $1850 Au in July 1975. Original English owner wanted reliable car to tour Oz before his return to UK.
“Restored once between 1976 to 1983 and second between 1989 and 2005 delay due family commitments and children’s education. Car spent two years in outback Longreach but mostly in my garage on stands. Now back in action and running well”.

1967 Jaguar Series 1 E Type Roadster 4.2 The vehicle is a New Zealand new Series 1 4.2 litre E-Type roadster in Carmen red with black upholstery, complete with black factory hardtop. It has the original black mohair hood, which is in good condition. The vehicle is unrestored, but is in very good condition. It was refinished in Dulon in 1981. In 1985 David Silcock, who is regarded by many as New Zealands best XK engine builder, rebuilt the engine to racing standards. The rebuild included new Hepolite oversize solid skirt pistons, lightened flywheel, gas flowed head, D type cams and a Laycock diaphragm clutch. The vehicle has never been raced. It has the original close ratio all synchro gearbox and Powerlock differential. The front brakes have been uprated to series two specifications, whilst the rears are original. Following overhaul of all components, all hydraulics, including the clutch, were converted to Dow Corning Silicone Fluid. The vehicle has its original chrome wire wheels, and is fitted with a stainless steel header tank and exhaust system. Shorters delivered the vehicle new to Russell Hooper in 1967. It has had seven owners and was purchased by me in April 1993. The previous owner purchased it in early 1985. It has covered 106,000 miles. The vehicle was featured in the October 1991 issue of New Zealand Classic Car.

Car 1E1675 has been in my ownership since January 2008 and has now traveled 113000 miles. The cars history is as Rodger writes and has been in continuous New Zealand ownership. The car has not been tn Australia or painted primrose. The car is still unrestored and is in very good condition.
