Sellers description:
1968 Series 1.5 E-Type Roadster 6-cylinder 4.2, Red/Black. You don't see many of these models. Incredible design that modern cars just do not compare to.
This is a car for someone serious who wants a driver with potential.
- Red exterior and black interior. The paint looks perfect from 10 ft. but up close it has a few imperfections, scratches, but all minor. Chrome needs touching up in places. Interior has been redone and looks great. Carpets are new and in good condition. Leather seats are in good condition. There is a slight wearing on the driver's side from getting in and out of the car, as well as a tiny hole in the top of the seat from where the top rubbed. The dash is in great condition. There is a slight tear in the leather around the gear shift. Original steering wheel and stick. Chrome wire wheels...there is a bit of peeling on two of them.
- Brand new cloth top. New Wilwood racing brakes. Twin carbs.
- Has the tail lights of the earlier Series I. Body in excellent condition.
- Runs well and starts up without a problem.
- Tires are not new but still have life in them.
- There are patches of rust on the undercarriage that should be repaired. This is common on these cars. This can be patched or replaced. If replaced, the car would fetch $40-45k. Because this is a nice running 1.5 Series, this would be worth double once restored to show quality.
- Speedometer may have turned over..could not get authentication of mileage from previous owner.
The car has a repair log up until about 15 years ago. I believe previous owner stored it most of the time.
This is a beautiful car that now is a great driver, and with a little more, could be an incredible show car. This car will just keep going up in value!

I own this car presently and am trying to figure out if it has the original engine. This is what the data plate says: Engine 7E16771-9 . I THINK I am looking in the right spot on the the top of the engine and I see this number: 7E9107-9. does this mean the engine was replaced? If so, can you trace this new engine?
