Current bid $5,000.00 (Reserve not met), 2 bids, 6 days left in auction. The auction is based in Alma, Georgia, USA. Buy it now price $50,000.

    Sellers description:
I am brokering this 1968 Jaguar E-type Series 1½ OTS, or roadster as it is more commonly known. The VIN is 1E17770, and is likely within the last 500 Series 1 E-types manufactured. According to the Archive certificate issued by Jaguar North America, it was manufactured on March 3, 1968. All numbers match per the Archive certificate. The car has 47148 original miles on it and is in great shape for it's age. I know that the car has been garaged all of it's life and it really has been well taken care of.

When the car was purchased by my client, it was quite good cosmetically and has not been repainted. The paint on this car is all original and still looks quite good. The car was purchased by my client from a older lady in Cummings, Georgia.

After the car was purchased by my client, he had the engine and drive train professionally rebuilt. It only has about 5000 miles on the rebuilt engine. While the engine was out, they also rebuilt the front suspension and replaced the main wiring harness. The car runs quite strong. It has twin Strombergs, the originals. The original intake manifold crossover was removed when the engine was rebuilt, a rather common mod to improve the breathing. He has the original crossover still. Other changes from original are minor and could be reversed if desired.

The car has an aftermarket but period ignition coil. A couple of years ago the Lucas 45 amp alternator died and my client had an 80 amp GM one wire alternator custom built, and replaced the 45 amp one. He still has the original Lucas. There is a 15" pusher fan mounted ahead of the radiator. E-types are notoriously warm runners. It has never run hot, but it gets pretty warm in stop and go traffic without the pusher fan on. With it on, never a problem.

The tires are Michelins, blackwalls, not concours but period. The car is factory equipped with air conditioning, one of the very few I have ever seen. The AC did not work when it was purchased, and he did not choose to try to rebuild it, but all the pieces are there, including all the louvers in the air distribution unit (hard to find). My client has some extra parts that will go with the car and still has almost all of the original parts that was changed out on the car. I don't think you will find a nicer southern original roadster that is in better shape.

The only thing that I have seen wrong with the car is two small rust bubbles on the right door skin that are not broken through. After looking the car over very well, this is the only rust I could find on the car. The sills and floors are solid as a rock and the rest of the car looks wonderful. There are a few small scratches on the car but no significant ones or dents. The interior is black and in great shape with normal wear and tear but no major rips.

The vehicle is located in Woodstock, Georgia which is in the Northern Metro Atlanta area. The car can be pickup up from my clients home. I have tried to describe the condition of the car to the best of my knowledge. This is not a show quality car, but is a all original car in need of a little paint and TLC to be Show Ready. I really don't think you would have to invest much to make this car one of the best remaining roadster's on the road today.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
