Sellers description:
1968 Jaguar XKE Roadster, Series I.5, with numbers matching; light blue with dark blue leather interior; triple SU carburetors and an authentic one owner car. It also comes with a Jaguar heritage certificate - that is, verifying all numbers match and with the original owners name on it. We also have a recent registration from 2011 and many documents throughout the years with the same owners name verifying the car to be a one owner car. The only reason we were able to acquire this rare piece was because of the sad death of the original owner that died in 2010. His wife would not sell the car for the last 2 years, because she knew how much he loved his Jag. This '68 Jaguar was the owner's pride and joy because he loved driving this great car. This being said he has always kept up on all the mechanics of the car since new. In 2008, he spent over $31,000 to ensure that his beauty would ride as it should. This car is mechanically superb. His desire was to drive and enjoy his Jag. The car could use a cosmetic restoration or driven as is. This is a rare piece of history that comes with lots of documentation. For $39,500

cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-Jaguar-Roadster-/320927926768
Current bid $20,100 reserve not met, 8 bids 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Hackettstown, New Jersey. 50k miles.
Sellers description:
Series 1.5 driver. To my mind the Series 1.5 is the best of the e-types; the powerful three carb engine (and generally lighter weight) of the early cars and the vastly improved engine cooling of the later model.
Maintenance records seem to show that this car was owned by one person from 1975 until recently. Over $10,000 of mechanical renovation was performed in 2008 apparently including new wire wheels, fuel pump, much of the suspension rubber, brakes and brake flexible lines, rebuilt carburetors, new Spax shocks, electronic ignition, much more.
Car really deserves: new paint, recover seats and finish interior, new top (top is probably as weathertight as ever but looks its age).
Rust shown in trunk is totally surface.
Driver's side floor is subtantially rusted as per photo, Rust-Oleum a nd re-assembled after picture.
Records show No. 1 cylinder down on compression, 95 psi.
