This 4.2 Series 1.5 was supplied new to Jacey Clark Humes of San Diego in 1968. In the late 70's it was taken off the road apparently with an engine fault and was kept in storage in Mexico until 1990. At this point it was purchased and exported to England by Barry Hodson Cars. The car arrived complete but wasn't commissioned for restoration until 1999. The car had an extensive ground up restoration to factory specification and at the same time was converted to right hand drive. All mechanical parts were restored to new and the body shell stripped, repaired where needed and finished in it's original pale blue paint. Renowned Jaguar trimmers, Suffolk and Turley, did the trim and hood.
Since it's completion in 2004 the car has changed ownership once and completed only 4,700 miles. During which time it has been maintained by the respected Barry Hodson Cars (now RH Classics of Twyford, Leicestershire). With such little mileage, but great care, the car still remains in as good condition as when its restoration was completed. This E-Type performs, drives and looks outstanding. It comes with a good history file containing pictures of the restoration and all MOT's since the rebuild, a heritage certificate which confirms its matching number status, current V5c and valid MOT until July 2015. Also accompanying the car is a matching hood bag and original tool kit.
A striking car that opitimises the beauty of the Series 1, and complemented by the reliability and comfort of the Series 2.
