We are very pleased to be able to offer you today this example of the much sought after and now becoming rare Jaguar 'E' type 4.2 two seater Mark 1 Fixed Head Coupe which was first registered in 1965 and is described as being in excellent condition throughout further to a complete restoration.
We are informed that it has been restored to a very high standard and the work completed has included new sills, doors, boot floor, brakes, suspension, koni shock absorbers, heater, new headlights, sidelights, seals and washers, fuel pump, discs and joints, manifold, header tank, radiator, air cleaner, stainless steel exhaust, new chrome wire wheels and re-conditioned carburettors.
The seats and trim are original but are in very good condition but new carpets and a new headlining have been fitted. Some chrome components have been replaced and new door locks fitted but the radio is the original one and is, as far as we are aware, in working order. All the invoices for the work carried out are available and these total in excess of ú18000 for the restoration during the period from 1996 to 1998 alone.
The car has only had two owners from new, a company and one of the directors of the company and the recorded mileage of 58000 miles appears to be correct from new. It is finished in White and this is complimented by a Black leather trim and we are informed by the vendor that this car drives very well in all respects. It has been fully waxoyled and comes with a current M.O.T. certificate until March, a large history file, the original green logbook and there is a current V5 registration document confirming the registration number DLK 67C.
This car is in first class condition both bodily and mechanically and it is ready to drive home or in fact anywhere else you might wish to go.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
