Ebay item 12/5/06
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-Great-Series-One-4-2-fixed-head-coupe-from ...
Current bid $7,600 reserve not met, 9 bids, 6 days left in auction. 57k miles.
Sellers description:
This is good running car that has never been restored. It is presentable in its present condition and can be driven as is, or fully restored if desired. The car is finished in dark silver and has a black vinyl interior. While the car looks good in photos, it has several paint imperfections, the body a few dings and the interior is quite poor. The 4.2 engine is a good running unit but is from a later car. The floors have been replaced with correct replacement panels, body filler is found over the rear wheels and in the rear quarter panels. The car has good red line Michelins, very nice chrome wire wheels and a unique aftermarket air conditioning system that fits nicely behind the seats and on the center console. Overall, it’s a good car to drive and enjoy now and restore later.

Sellers description:
1965 JAGUAR SERIES 1 LHD 4.2 Litre Fixed Head Coupe (FHC), offered for sale is a rare and desirable Series 1 sports car in great running condition. This fast 65' features original color gunmetal gray and has just recently had many items recently refurbished such as new coker whitewalls, spinners, etc, etc including a complete engine refreshed with NOS parts. Here is a summary of this outstanding sports car
Engine
4.2L triple carb with NOS air cleaner, Heater box, washer bottle, and professionally re-porcealin exhaust manifolds, new battery, regulator, wires, electrical, and much more,,,NOS or SNG Barrett parts were the only two sources of parts. Only non year correct item is a electrical thermostat controlled fan with variable setting. Engine is very strong running smooth and reliable. One of the mufflers has a internal baffle plate and rattles at low rpm. Idles smoothly at 550rpm
Gearbox ;4speed all synchro gear box that was updated by the original owner at a jaguar dealership in 1967..shifts very smooth and tight!..clutch excellent
Brakes. Excellent with handbrake even working the way its should
Steering; Strong and firm, no play, however needs new bushing in steering column..approx $45 to purchase
Exterior;
Body is overall clean, and very solid with original steel. Car has not been in a accident in its life or been modified .Paint is showing some age but looks great from 10ft..very desirable color and original patina gives a lot of british character. Looks identical to the 9600HP Geneva show car Undercarriage is very, very good, solid …doors and hood fit excellent. Bonnet is the best ive seen on a unrestored e type …super straight..all panels fit as they should. New bumpers, taillamps, amco rear bar, gutter trim, side pillars, lamps, door handles, hood bar…wire wheels are 9/10 with 3 of 4 wheels without any rust, 1 wheel as very small pitting on hub, but not noticeable, fresh new tires and spinners, less that 100 miles
Interior
90% original , complete however at some point leather was replaced with vinyl…all gages work, and chrome is very good with some cleaning…I have many new interior items that come with the car …overall, the interior needs a restoration, but is suitable for a daily driver. Comes with a rare AM /FM radio that is new and works great and is the correct aftermarket radio
Spare Parts that come with the car…all new rubber trim, interior chrome pieces, spare gages, original literature.
Car is a lot of fun to drive and draws much attention at shows and in the nieghbourhood…
