Net ad 2/9/04
store.tolosatech.com/xks/forsale.ihtml

Sellers comment:
Series 1 two-seat coupe. Serial # 1E31035. The car was refurbished some 20 years ago. Subsequently driven for 20,000 miles over the next few years. Odometer reads 62,000 miles. Approx. 8 years ago the chassis was dis-mantled to address a problem with the bonnet support frame. The rest of the sheet metal was acid dipped at Redi-strip in Allentown P.A. to remove all rust, and primed. The car has been sitting ever since. The engine has been rotated periodically, and is still assembeled with the gearbox. The rear end is still in one piece.

Car now on ebay:

www.ebay.com/itm/316040974177

This is a classified ad $72,000 for 29 days, seller Registrymotors, car said to be in Macedon, New York, 62k miles, previously said to be in Glen Burnie, Maryland however it would seem the first description or photos are incorrect.

Seller's description:

VIN Number: 1E31035

1965 Jaguar E-Type Coupe

Transmission: 4-Speed

For sale is a highly collectible 1965 Jaguar E-Type Series 1, a sought-after classic perfect for restoration enthusiasts. This project piece features a 4-speed synchromesh transmission and comes with all original parts included. The body has been dipped in acid to remove rust and sealed with epoxy primer, ensuring a solid foundation for restoration. Sheet metal components have been disassembled, and the motor remains intact as one complete piece. The rear end has been built into its housing and is fully assembled. The interior, stored separately, is in excellent condition. This is a rare opportunity to bring an iconic classic back to life with a solid starting point.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
