Ebay item 8/30/18
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-4-2-LITER-COUPE-TRIPLE-CARBS/372419260909
Car has a buy it now price of $85,000 for 20 days, seller kurttannermotorcars, 86k miles.

Seller's description:

VIN: 1E31050 Stock: 0294 Mileage: 86,624 Color: Red Trans: Manual Engine: Inline 6 MPG: Drivetrain: RWD

Description:
Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this nicely restored E-type Coupe. This car was just purchased in Michigan from the widow of the previous owner, who passed away just last year. This car was his pride and joy, and comes to us in this very attractive condition, running and driving superbly.
Details of the restoration appear to be new bodywork/paintwork, chrome, full rubber kit, Triplex windshield, rebuilt engine and carburetor setup, new chrome wire wheel/tire set, braking system rebuild, new Bartlett trim kit in black leather with all correct materials, etc.
The body and paint on this car is of good quality. The body panels could use some fine tuning as regards to their fit, and could be adjusted up more snugly, now that some of the newer reproduction rubber has settled in. There are a few minor imperfections (small ding, scratch, hairline cracks) which shows the car has been driven and enjoyed. The car appears rustfree with a very solid undercarriage, undercoated as original.
The car's interior is beautiful, completely retrimmed in Black with a major Jaguar interior kit purchased, utilizing correct materials throughout, professionally installed.
Mechanically, the car is excellent. The matching numbers engine starts easily on the button, shows good oil pressure, no smoke or noises, revs well and pulls strongly down the road. The full-synchromesh gearbox is a delight to use. The car drives smoothly and comfortably on it's nice tire set, with a solid and quiet ride, instilling good confidence to the driver.
Overall, a great driving E-type. This car presents beautifully and is excellent value, in terms of the money spent and work performed on it. This matching numbers 1965 Coupe is a smart buy going forward and can be enjoyed right away.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
