Sellers description:
1966 Jaguar E-Type FHC (Fixed Head Coupe). This is a very nice upper level drivers class car. It is VERY solid with no rust showing. Floorboards and rocker panels show no signs of any rust! The exterior is painted Carmen Red and does show some flaws. Some of the panels do not match perfectly such as the doors and there are some minor areas which need some attention. The interior is Black with a newer looking gray Wool Union Cloth headliner and the flip down sun visors are nicely done also. Seats, door panels, dash pad and cargo area are in great shape with no rips or tears found. The British Wilton Wool carpet also is in great shape. The engine starts right up and runs very strong with no adverse engine noise. Brakes are very responsive and braking is straight with no pull. Many items in the engine compartment have been detailed and the engine is clean with the correct gold coloured cylinder head valley. All in all this is a top level drivers class car.

Seller's description:
This well preserved Series 1 Fixed Head Coupe is an honest example with Original Paint and many of its original finishes-the only thing I can see that was replaced is the seat leather, which is in excellent condition, and really too nice to be original. While there are a few miinor dings and imperfections in the paint, this car speaks to me. Sold New thru Jaguar New York to Dorothy E. Hurd, it's an honest car that has traveled through time gracefully, having been well cared for along the way. The car was purchased about 10 yeas ago and maintained in Original cosmetic condition under current ownership, while being maintained by the leading local Jaguar Shop as needed. The car is just back from the shop with the carburators being rebuilt among other minor adjustments and fluid changes to make it truly ready for anything the new owner wishes to do. Featuring a beautiful Wood Steering Wheel, AM/FM Radio, Tools and Spare, the car is accompanied by a Jaguar Heritage Certificate. The car runs and drives perfectly, and is ready for either long distance touring or rallies as well as local summer time drives. The car is accompanied by extensive receipts for all work done under current ownership, Shop Manuals. Removed Original and other Spare parts. and other documentation.
The later Series 1's with the 4.2 Ltr. Triple Carb engine have long been the pinnacle choice for enthusiasts in the know. These are true drivers cars with exceptional performance. Don't miss this rare opportunity to acquire an honest example with a high level of preservation. A car that has been cared for its entire life, and always treated with the respect it deserves.

This 1966 Jaguar XKE Series I coupe is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential and is finished in Carmen Red over black leather. The car is equipped with enclosed headlights, 15″ wire-spoke steel wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, triple windshield wipers, an AM/FM radio, and a heater. The current owner purchased the car in 2013, and work in 2023 involved rebuilding the carburetors, cleaning the fuel system, and replacing the brake master cylinder, battery, and spark plugs. This XKE Series I coupe is now offered on dealer consignment with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, the owner’s manual, service records, spare parts, and a clean Indiana title.
This example is finished in Carmen Red, and additional equipment includes enclosed headlights, a louvered clamshell hood, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, fender-mounted mirrors, triple windshield wipers, a side-hinged rear hatch, and dual exhaust outlets.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with Michelin X tires measuring 185R15. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The brake master cylinder was replaced in 2023.
The cabin features bucket seats that have been reupholstered in black leather along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Interior appointments include black vinyl dash trim, a sliding rearview mirror, an AM/FM radio, and a heater.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 69k miles, less than 1k of which were added under current ownership.
The 4.2-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque. A replacement fuel tank was installed in 2014 and Pertronix electronic ignition was added in 2016. Work in 2023 included rebuilding the carburetors, cleaning the fuel system, and replacing the battery and spark plugs. The cylinder head stamp reads 7E5425-9.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates.
