Imported into the United Kingdom from the United States and registered MCY546C in August 2015. Sold by Will Stone Historic Cars of Ramsbury in May 2021. Seller's description below.
www.willstonecars.com/stock/1965-jaguar-e-type-series-1-4.2-litre-fhc/71
Dispatched on 27th September 1965 and bound for New York, this superb Series 1 was originally finished in Black with a Red interior. Chassis 1E31787, a matching numbers example stayed in the States for much of its life evidently enjoying a comfortable one as there are no signs of significant corrosion or previous accident damage.
A very thorough refubishment programme was carried out which included changing the colour to the current Dark Green with Tan interior. The engine has been rebuilt by specialist Peter Lander at Sigma Engineering. The rear sub frame was dismantled and rebuilt as were the suspension and brakes. Furthermore it also has a whole new exhaust system.
The present owner who has some of the greatest sports racing Jaguar's in his time has used the E Type on various fun rallies including the Scottish Malts where it performed faultlessly. A really well sorted E in arguably the most usable specification that's great value and ready to leap.
