One owner original car, bought it from his son in Dec 2006 after his father passed away several years ago.. Car was parked by the owner in a dry garage in 1977 due to illness and never saw daylight again before Dec 26, 2006. Car had 19,039 miles on it, complete with everything, including tools, all documents and manuals. No rust, never any body work and entirely original. I'm restoring the car now, all mechanicals had suffered from the 30+ years hiatus, but engine is in good shape, no cracks in block, and rest of car is in very good shape. Hope to be able to restore original paint which is dull, but not cracked, and most chrome is fine, so is the interior.

Engine and gear box is out of the car and taken apart for new pistons and other parts, and everything from the firewall and forward is off the car now, awaiting the engine to come back in a few months time from the machinist who will bore it out with 0.20th, install the new oversized pistons (engine was not frozen, but rust rings had formed in a couple of cylinders), crank and head. From there I will take it myself with help from friends at the local Jaguar club.

Plan to restore her back to a solid. driver, to share the garage with my other Jaguar, a 1967 Mk 2, 3rd owner of that car , which see the road as often as time permit. This is my first major E-type restoration, so I will take some time, but we're making progress every week!

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
