Car listed on EBay:

cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll

Description: Jaguar : XKE
1967 XKE "TRICARB"COUPE AC low miles CAL CAR

Miles: 71000 Doors: 2 doors
Transmission: Manual Interior: Black
Engine: 6 - Cyl. Year: 1967
VIN Number: 7E 9531-9 Exterior: Blue - Metallic

Options: Air Conditioning

Vehicle Description: The Jaguar XKE started it's life as a bare bones race car, the last models were dogging soft luxury cars. Perhaps the model which is the best of both worlds is the 1967 with 3 factory carburetor, the "'67 Series 1 1/2 Tri-carb Coupe".

Please note: this is NOT a longer and bulbous "2+2", but the more desirable REAL Coupe.

1967 was the last year with the classic "toggle switch" dash controls. The unattractive wide plastic switches are on jags from '68 on. This dash looks nearly new. 1967 has the 4.2 liter engine upgraded from the earlier 3.8, the most attractive series 1.5 boat tail rear-end, yet modern appointments such as factory air conditioning found in the last years of production.

This is a one owner California car which has been brought from hibernation with a full service, including but not limited to: a re-cored radiator, new water pump, hoses, belts, battery, fuel pump, motor mounts, new brakes and rebuilt calipers, rebuilt carburetors, removed boiled and cleaned fuel tank with like new michelin tires mounted on the original spin-off chrome wire wheels.

Vehicle Condition: This automobile has 71,xxx original miles, is mechanically "tight" and runs strong. It drives like an XKE should.

Of course she's a perfect candidate for a meticulous restoration, but I say "don't do it!" Drive and enjoy this car for several years first. It would be a shame to spend money on a great looking driving car when it requires none.

The paint is attractive and shiny, but imperfect, perhaps the weakest point of the car. The carpet appears original and shows age, but isn't ripped and torn. I didn't see any indication of repaired body damage. The factory air needs repair to be functional. This is a solid car that's obviously lived it's life in a dry climate. Only some minor surface corrosion in battery tray, but no rot in the usual XKE places.

With 5 days 0 hours there have been 17 bids to a price of US $17,000.00 (Reserve not met)

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
