    Car offered at:
    www.bramclassauto.com/property/1966-e-type-jaguar-fhc/

    Sellers description:
1966 Jaguar E Type FHC. This car was restored in 1990/91 by Lynx in the UK. Lynx were for many years famous for their reproductions of the D Type and C Type cars. Their whole focus was on Jaguars. They were known for quality at considerable expense. The cost of restoration at that time was 90,000 Pounds.

The engine is fitted with a modified head by Lynx and a triple Weber carburetors. The car has only travelled 2,941 miles since the restoration. The body is in very good overall condition with some minor imperfections mainly due to the age of the paint. The paint is peeling in several areas but the underling metal is excellent. It has always been dry stored which has been great for protecting the integrity of the body.

The interior is in great condition, the seats show next to no wear, which is reasonable considering the mileage travelled. This car is just a Great Driver, ready for a lot of fun. Drive it anywhere. if you want to detail it to perfection, its no great job.

Imported into the United Kingdom from Canada. For sale at Graeme Hunt Limited of Kensington for £152,500. Seller's description below. www.graemehunt.com/motorcar/450/1966-jaguar-e-type-4-2-fhc-fully-restored-by-lyn ...

1966 Jaguar E Type 4.2 fhc fully restored by Lynx. For sure one of the very best restored E Type's we've ever found. A Canadian vehicle which was sent over here to be restored by Lynx in the early 1990's by quite a famous chap - a mine owner in Ontario. The restoration was completed in two years and the cost was a heady £80,000 (a new Rolls was £100,000 at the same time).

Lynx quite often upgraded cars and ours is no exception with their own cylinder head mated (i.e. no number to the head) to Weber 45DCOE carburettors, upgraded brakes and suspension. The engine block was changed during the complete engine rebuild. Original colours have been kept, being Old English White with deep red interior and nicely fitted with Sundym (delicate) green tint glass too.

Since shipping her back to Ontario our mine owner hardly ever used her and only 3,000 miles had been covered by 2012 when she was sold, only to be returned back to the UK. Once back a delicate check over and concours preparation was undertaken with particular attention paid to the underside, suspension and engine bay and thereafter she has been displayed at the Fete Champetre Concours d'Elegance at the Hurlingham Club in June 2016.

She is in magnificent condition, both cosmetically and when using her on the road. This is without doubt one of the best restored E Types we have ever had the pleasure of offering.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
