Interestingly, there is an earlier certificate from Jaguar cars, dated 21 Feb 1992, which states that the car was manufactured on 25 November 1965. This explains the year on the title document.

Brian, that is interesting. By all other measures your car should be a late '66 or early '67. Errors from JDHT are not totally uncommon. I've heard of several and still more errors that JDHT have discovered that were made by Coventry. Opalescent Maroon is my favorite color on a fhc, tho I'm partial to opalescent silver blue on an ots :-)

This car was originally registered to L.R. Helsel of Wichita, Kansas USA, but I know nothing else about it's history. I would love to find out more and would be grateful for any information.

It was originally LHD but was rebuilt as RHD

Hi Brian, think your car looks fantastic and is my inspiration for the rebuild that I am doing at the moment to a series 1 , 4.2 fixed head. I would be very grateful for any info on the exterior colour which I presume is opalescent maroon and also the colour of the interior and where you sourced the interior. I have got to the point when I have got to make the two big decisions and feel very nervous about getting it wrong. Many thanks Tim

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
