Lot #165618

This 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I coupe was produced on November 3, 1966, and initially delivered through Jaguar Cars in New York. It was acquired by the seller in 2005 and underwent a refurbishment that was completed in 2010 that involved refinishing the car in white and refreshing the red interior. Power is provided by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes 15″ wire-spoke steel wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a push-button Blaupunkt radio. This XKE Series I coupe is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Production Record Trace certificate, an owner’s manual, service records, and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name.

The Series I E-Types were equipped with covered headlights and taillights mounted above the chrome rear bumpers. This example was refinished in its current shade of white as part of the refurbishment under current ownership, and additional work involved welding in replacement floors and installing insulation on the firewall.

Wire 15″ wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.

The refreshed cabin houses bucket seats upholstered in red leather, which is complemented by black vinyl dash trim. A Blaupunkt push-button radio and a heater are installed.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 26k miles, approximately 1,600 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 4.2-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors as well as a five-blad fan and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

The Jaguar Heritage Production Record Trace Certificate shows that the car was completed on November 3, 1966, and distributed via Jaguar Cars of New York.
