Sellers description:
1967 E-type Jaguar fixed-head coupe (not 2+2)
1 owner for 32 years!
Pearlescent over Old English White lacquer, black leather interior

10k miles since engine rebuild by owner 24 years ago. As an engineering student and neurosurgery resident, I owned and restored dozens of Jaguars beginning in the 1960's. This and a '67 roadster were the best of the bunch, and I've kept them for all these years, continuously licensed and occasionally driven - less and less frequently, as a growing Ferrari collection has displaced them, and now obliges sale.

The coupe has a stiffer chassis than the roadster and, as a closed car, is more suited to fast motoring. This car acquired the following performance parts, all well accepted as improvements for this model: Weber carburetors, ported and polished head, tuned exhaust headers, bottom end blueprinted and balanced, Isky XM3 cams (high lift, moderate duration, very tractable), Mallory dual point ignition, custom cold air box (satellite shop technology; reduces induction noise). Koni shocks all around; Michelin asymmetric radials.

The car was repainted 22 years ago; it has clean bodywork with no rust bubbles anywhere. A few wrinkles appeared in the lacquer, around the hood louvres over the exhaust, shortly after the car was painted. A few smaller wrinkles appeared in the left rear quarter panel at the same time. Otherwise the body is remarkably free of door dings and scratches (although my kids grew up around it).

Set up for tall driver; seats mounted directly to floor. 3-point seat belts. Original leather in good condition. Headliner intact but shows its age. Very good chrome all around - even the rear window trim (typically missing on these cars). Complete tool kit, manuals. New brakes last year.

1967 was the last year for the classic design with glass-covered headlights, displayed in several art museums. Pre-emission controls, real toggle switches, etc. Improvements over '62-4 include 4.2 litre engine, full synchromesh, more comfortable seats. This is the year to own!

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
