This 1968 Jaguar XKE Series 1.5 coupe was built on April 4, 1968 and was refurbished between 2005 and 2006. It is finished in British Racing Green over black leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six equipped with triple SU carburetors and linked to a four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes enclosed headlights, 15″ wire-spoke steel wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, dual side mirrors, triple windshield wipers, and a heater. The current owner purchased the car in 2016 and later participated in the 2018 Watkins Glen International Tour de Marque. This XKE Series 1.5 coupe is now offered in Horseheads, New York on dealer consignment with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, the owner’s manual, service records, and an Oklahoma title.
The car came finished from the factory in British Racing Green and was repainted in 2006, at which time repairs were performed on the lower front nose, lower rear area, and left rear fender and door, while the right rear quarter panel, rear floors, and outer rockers were replaced. Equipment includes enclosed headlights, a louvered clamshell hood, wraparound chrome bumpers, dual side mirrors, triple windshield wipers, a side-hinged rear hatch, and dual exhaust outlets. Blemishes are visible.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by rounded knock-off hubs and are mounted with Michelin XVS tires measuring 185/80. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black leather along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Interior appointments include black vinyl dash trim, a sliding rearview mirror, a push-button radio, and a heater.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 60k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership.
The 4.2-liter inline-six has been fitted with triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque. An oil change was performed in 2023.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission. Rust on the underside is visible.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates.
The Oklahoma title is listed as “Classic.”
