Ebay item 9/6/13
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NO-RESERVE-1968-Jaguar-XKE-4-2-Coupe-Low-Miles-Gorgeous- ...
Current bid $29,100, no reserve, 23 bids 9 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
1968 Jaguar XKE 4.2 Coupe
From the estate of a long-time Jaguar collector, this last-model-year, 1968 XKE 4.2 Liter Coupe is a well maintained original. The owner of 20 years commissioned a repaint in original Primrose Yellow color and new leather interior. The body is laser-straight with excellent panel fit and NO RUST. No signs of accidents or abuse. Chrome, trim and wire wheels are excellent.
The mileage of 42,771 miles showing is believed to be original and correct, but unverified. The car runs, drives and handles like a low-mileage original should. The original XK6 engine runs without fault. Smooth with plenty of power. Transmission shifts crisply. Great fun to drive. Car has been recently inspected and serviced by an authorized Jaguar service facility. Ready for the road. All gauges register accurately. Blaupunkt radio. Horn does not work. Original tool kit.

All engine, transmission matching numbers
Documented Jaguar Heritage Certificate
Nov 2015-Nov 2016 car was in Austin, TX undergoing a $45K Documented full engine rebuild from Classic Jaguar out of Austin, Texas, --- transmission rebuild, new cooling system, new radiator with improved cooling fan, new front suspension to include new shocks, bushing, torsion bars, etc. New steering rack, new and improved high torque engine starter, new battery, new lines, restored speedometer, etc. Have 400 miles on car since rebuild.
--all documented through invoices and cancelled checks as well as Classic Jaguar website documenting full engine rebuild on this particular car. Bottom line, I have done the hard work and investment for the new owner to have this car for years to come without having to deal with any uncertainty in the mechanical realm. This is not a "fresh rebuild or engine pulls strong" flowery language type rebuild, but an honest rebuild from one of the nations top Jaguar E type professionals.
