This was originaly sold to a Mr Harold Hicks of Oxford and would love to contact the family so that I may be able to trace its early history.
Has anybody any suggestions on how to do so?

i have just purchased this car, and , as prviously requested by mr abrahams, would like to find out anything about its history. i have contacted the dvlc, but, as expected, have received nothing in reply. is there a way of extracting information from dvlc or any related government body? can i get copies of mot dates and owners so that i can get a starting-point for a search for when it was exported to australia, and start a search for australia owners? my phone and fax nos are (61) 354261267 if anyone can help. e-mail address keimag@optusnet.com.au.

I am preparing to sell my E-Type - currently awaiting installation of new clutch- and would like to know if any one can answer a question regarding the chassis number. The Heritage Certificate carries the Production Record Trace Certificate number 21140, chassis number 1E50021,Engine Number 7E 50311-9 ,all of which are on the car. The car is in original colour and carries its original U.K. number plate. In attempting to get more information, I have checked the E-Type documentation from Jaguar and find that this is the first car on the 2 +2 E Type chassis listing, but I have no "official" information as to why. I am aware of other 2+2's with lower chassis numbers, so what is the true situation? I do not want to mislead any potential buyer, so would appreciate any definitive story. I can be contacted by e-mail, keimag55@bigpond.com.au, or by phone at (61)354261267 -please leave message if no answer. Thank you

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
